it's been almost 5 years since I started making music and I've never felt shaken to do anything else with my life. I love it. the journey's been great. today (March 8th, 2018) I turn 22 and I wanted to share this piece(s) with Y'all.

Cosmic Cuts lives in the primordial soup of hip hop, boom bap, electronica, soul and Rnb. @XPRSO is a Kenyan-based Production team consisting of producers @breathebaby, @0h-mars-m, @mr_lu and @revampke. 

Their lush and playful records are based on the main pillars of hip hop, reggae and dance hall music; bass, dirty drums, dark vocals and sampling. This is an XPRSO takeover.... AKA DJ Unjust's attempt to highlight these amazing, humble humans' creative works as well as showcase some dope alternative artists across East Africa and beyond.

XPRSO Interview

Nobody for President (House Shoes Flip Sessions #6)

East African musicianship is vast as it is diverse. However, due to a lack of proper funding and infrastructure for the arts, the true breadth of the region’s talents tends to be underrepresented. Furthermore, when conversations are had and opportunities are doled out regarding the emergence of African music globally, too often East African voices are left out.

The Full Full Condition series is an attempt to bring us further out of the shade. It is a series of compilation albums featuring several up-and-coming artists from across East Africa and the diaspora. Tangaza Magazine will be releasing and publicizing an album on an annual basis alongside our yearly print issue. The first volume, featuring acts like EA Wave, Naomisia, Mwami, and mau, is set for release in August 2020 on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, Audiomack, and TIDAL etc.)

“Full Full Condition'' is a term born from a 2011 Ugandan viral video of the same name and now lives in East African colloquialism and meme culture to express the greatest extent of any given situation. One might say “every song on this compilation album is a jam. It’s a full full condition!”
