The machine sprung to life with a great electric roar, inside it buzzed and hummed sending out an enthusiastic noise which echoed with a precise tone and texture. This was the flange factory, where dreams were made and the noises of nightmares echoed between empty walls as dancers moved back and forth. The lights began to flicker and flash as the electrical currents pulsed and vibrated with a scattergun sense of purpose. Soon they would be lost beneath the fog and the sounds of a world beyond... 

Lucas Croon is a producer on who it is wise to keep close tabs, he has released music previously on Themes For Great Cities and Aiwo. Now he lends a hand to a new split release on Feines Tier, an imprint based in Cologne. His track "Flange Factory" is destined to do wonders in the hands of well informed dj's.

Contemporary singer Anna Clementi meets the Alien Alien.
Together they cross boundaries for a visionnaire timeless anthem: NO G.D.M., the cult song by German electro pioneer Gina X.
Originally released in 1979, it's a sublime portrait of the British dandy icon Quentin Crisp, one of the fathers of the queer culture.
Anna Clementi and Alien Alien dig to the heart of voodoo: summoning, obsession, hypnosis, slow ritual dance. With an unpredicted twist, which leads the scene to another level.
The dub version by Hugo Sanchez leads the track even more towards the essence of funk: obscure tribal percussions, revealing a noir soul.

Canny lad Jo Howard has drafted in an earthy bunch of reprobates for his debut EP on his own label Sulk Magic. The Bird Of Paradise features alongside other avarians, but the stand out slice is this weird, religious shuffler from mysterion Obb Globelyn. Like the finger snaps, it lures you in to it's mazey musica. Patted soft bass and synco riddims, cultish cants and flip rewinds make this beauty feel a little sordid. In a nice way, for your Sunday blues.

Julian G's first offering to wax is this beautifully reflective track that sits somewhere in the middle of House and Techno, we're going to go with Frosty House on this one! And what a perfect time of year for it! Cosmic Pint Glass has been sitting on this one for awhile now, but it seemed a good winter warmer for as the colder weather kicks in.

Julian started out distributing vinyl for various House labels in the mid 1990’s and the House sickness is still with him, he's runs the Classic 80's / 90's House and Techno group and from listening to so much you can imagine his collection is strong! Even though he's escaped to the fine city of Norwich, he can still be found busting out the occasional parties in his home turf in South London.

I love the way Brigitte Fontaine & Areski both mock everything with naive and insolent attitude. Although I made it sounds darker (as actual world is), like a looped mantra dub trying to cast a spell, disenchant the blinded and rise the black sheep."

PREMIERE #1035 | Fantastic Twins - Unwanted Guest [Garzen Records] 2020

Follow-up EP for Multi Culti from this Berlin duo merging sleek Krautrock influences, decades long production experience, jazz-percussion chops and funky German vocals. 

‘Kometenschweif’ will sound the most familiar to fans of Sascha Funke’s club-ready tracks, with percussive and vocal flourishes from Niklas Wandt.  ‘Kreidekreis’ takes the tempo down while ramping up the trippiness, a circular journey into funk bass, synth prog, and again, a percussion masterclass. Finally ‘Weg Vom Leder’ sounds like a lost Falco tune, brought up to date.

On the remix side, Alexander Arpeggio somehow manages to swing ‘Kreidekreis’ into a digital reggae slowburner, while Whodamanny turns Kometenschweif toward indie-kraut-wave bop.
