This track is inspired by freeform/japan psytrance and is quite experimental. It could still use some tweaking and mastering (on the way?).

The Meta Monk Saga - Meta Monk Awakening

A newborn is born within the dark of a mountain temple, in silence. The monks gather, expecting to nurture what they believe to be another delicate life. But as the child opens his eyes, the room falls quiet.

There is no confusion in his gaze. It is steady, too focused, too knowing, almost ancient. In the glow of the torches he studies his hands, and in that small gesture lies the impossible: recognition. He has worn these hands before — as a warrior gripping a blade, a healer binding wounds, a scholar writing sacred texts.

The days pass, and while his body grows like any child’s, his mind is different. He does not learn to speak — he recalls languages. He does not play — he meditates with the posture of an elder master. 

The elder monks whisper in wonder and awe: “Never before has the chain been broken. He has carried memory beyond death – across lifetime. The wheel of forgetting has turned to memory. The cycle of forgetting is broken.”

For the first time in history, a soul has carried the full weight of its past live into a new birth. His awakening is not a beginning, but a return — the first successful remembrance. 

A stare, ancient and unshaken, marks the first conscious moment of one who remembers all. The elder monks whisper a name — Meta Monk — aware that they are merely repeating the truth his soul has never forgotten – a title written into eternity itself.

The Meta Monk has returned, awake in a body that has barely opened its eyes.

For me, techno was the spark that started it all when it comes to dance music. It's deeply connected to my love for partying. Coming back to it and playing it loud on the Alternative Stage of the Nexen Festival felt like the most natural thing. :) With this set, my goal was to take you through the sensations I deeply connect with : mental, hypnotic, psychedelic, deep and always groovy. Also I'm currently working on a psychedelic techno EP. Can’t wait to share this new journey with you all! 🤘

WHO IS:
GOJJA’s music explores the borderlands between several psy-sub-genres: progressive, forest, psytech and downbeat, with a strong emphasis on textured, crunchy rhythms and percussive detail. 

For example, his 2018 album Slippery Filter Freaks is described as “continue[s] to explore and experiment with the borderlands between progressive- and forest psytrance … with the love for crunchy sounds and smearing percussions together with a pinch of weird humour on top”.

In his 2022 release Octo EP, the project aimed to “explore the lower BPM’s of music … heading deeper into the sonic landscape of GOJJA’s textured music … a deep sea sonic exploration”.
