An irresistible slice of dancefloor-ready Afro-Brazilian fusion, "Can Do" is taken from Bristol  6-piece Dundundun's second EP for the ever relevant hometown label Worm Discs.

Following their sold-out self-titled EP, Dundundun are poised to share their ‘Future Hope’ EP, featuring special guest, poet, visual artist and filmaker Nadeem Din-Gabisi, and a remix from fellow Bristolian, world renowned DJ & producer Red Rack’em.

Packed with a wealth of experience, Dundundun members have spent the past decade touring the world and darkening studios with The Heavy, Alice Russell, Unforscene, DJ Die, Ben Westbeech, Pete Josef, Dele Sosimi, and Ishmael Ensemble to name but a few - bringing a rich heritage of sound straight out of Bristol’s thriving music scene. Electronic, arpeggiating multi-layered vibrations born from a mutual respect of past musical idioms and future musical legacy.

Their debut LP received love and support from the likes of BBC 6 Music's Gilles Peterson and Tom Ravenscroft, whilst recent support slots with Ashley Henry, Balimaya Project, Nubiyan Twist and Run Logan Run have helped hone the band’s live sound. 

Dundundun are Justin Fellows (Drums), Jackson Lapes (Percussion), Benji Muscat (Bass), Dorian Childs Prophet (Keys + Synths), Ben Plocki (Baritone Sax) and Brian Hargreaves (Tenor Sax).

New Band Name, new LP; The former Max Graef Band toured and worked on new music all year. Musical progress, and the impression of not enough edge and rawness in a lot of recent music, inspired and motivated a majority of the recording. The band has grown as a unit and wrote a lot of material together this year in late night sessions. During 2 weeks of recording the new songs in the studio the goal was to try all sorts of instruments, amps and effects and be open to any combination of sounds. Furthermore, they and engineer Lutz Fahrenkrog-Petersen tried to capture and maintain the raw feeling of the live recordings using almost exclusively analog pedals and racks as well as keeping the editing of the recordings to a minimum. Although Bands like Et Cetera (Wolfgang Dauner), Embryo or Xhol have heavily infuenced Max Graef and his band, the result turned out very original ranging from Distorted Jazz-Rock to Experimental Soul, Electronic Percussion Workouts to Free Sound Experiments and Psychedelic Rock. With some tracks being around 14 minutes long, it is better to let the music speak for itself though.

Clear Path Ensemble is the neu project and brainchild of Wellington jazz and sonic arts graduate Cory Champion. Also producing left field house and techno under the name Borrowed CS, Clear Path Ensemble is Cory’s first offering to the jazz gods. Having spent many years playing drums alongside some of New Zealand’s most talented musicians in the revered Wellington jam session scene this release is an amalgamation of the energy & spirit that the Wellington scene encompasses.
Walking over the blurred lines of psychedelia and spiritual jazz and taking cues from planetary rhythms and celestial oddities, CPE invokes a higher sense of self through the transformative power of sound. In it’s truest essence these are a collection of cosmic compositions and a release that in our opinion is one of the heaviest to ever emerge from the New Zealand neo-jazz scene.

Swiss DJ Alex Attias returns to BBE with a second helping of uptempo cuts, perfectly encapsulating his LillyGood Party! sound.

Founder of the recently revived Visions imprint, a long-time collector and a revered selector, Alex Attias is, before everything, a refined producer whose musical craft has seen him travel the globe, most notably with an extended stint in the birthplace of the bruk sound, London.

The tracks you’ll find on this compilation are all current favourites, or proven classics that have never left Alex's record box at the LillyGood Parties, a gathering Alex and his brother Stephane run in their hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland.

LillyGood Party! Vol.2 is another testament to Attias’ unswerving taste for smooth yet intricate, subtly layered yet deeply rooted dance compositions; some subtly edited for maximum dance-floor effect.

Featuring instantly recognisable names such as Louie Vega's Elements Of Life, Peven Everett and even Pharoah Sanders, LillyGood Party 2 also sheds light on some lesser-known artists, digging out some gems, buried deep across the jazz, disco and electronic musical strata.
