Dutch duo Hel:sløwed makes a welcome return to Flashover, having been on quite the musical journey since their original ‘Flashed’ landed in spring ’22. Sounds like Michael de Kooker and Misja Helsloot have yet to stop and take a rest from exploring the boundaries of what’s trance, now rocking the label with the deeper, tech-influenced ‘Want Me’ – a one-of-a-kind collab with rising talent JNSN.Having built an impressive discography and securing an instantly recognizable sound, the second you press play on ‘Want Me’, you know you’re dealing with a Hel:sløwed original. 

Joined forces with Florida-based DJ/producer Charles Jensen, making name under his JNSN moniker, they bring a massive, rolling bassline and tight sub that’s bound to get those heart rates up. It’s the melodic touch and old-school, almost hoover-like influences that make ‘Want Me’ stand out though. A cross-over gem, that earns a spot in DJ sets all across the electronic playground, balancing techno, progressive, and trance alike. Celebrating three decades in the electronic music arena, French powerhouse Kiko continues to evolve with effortless class. His latest release, Bak Bak EP, lands on Miss Monique’s melodic techno imprint, Siona Records, showcasing his signature blend of tension, emotion, and machine-driven precision.

“Bak Bak” opens the EP with high-octane flair. Cinematic yet controlled, it fuses taut synthlines, crisp percussion, and sweeping atmospheres to create a perfectly paced peak-time moment. Futuristic and bold, it reflects Kiko’s ability to channel drama and depth in equal measure.

On the flip, “Like a Robot” dives into a more brooding, hypnotic zone. Mechanical and moody, its angular synths and percussive grooves move with robotic finesse, while delicate harmonic layers add soul beneath the steel. The result is a dark-edged roller that still carries an emotional core — classic Kiko.

With over 30 years in the game, Kiko continues to push boundaries. Following a wave of major releases on labels like Afterlife, Diynamic, Watergate, etc. His 2024 highlights include the high-profile collaboration of his track HOME with David Guetta and Olivier Giacomotto on Spinnin’ Records, as well as his forthcoming studio album Digital Family featuring Agoria, Etienne de Crécy, Oxia, and more.
