Here's a groove-heavy dance track that's exciting and even daring in ways.  One way is in its very structure of composition, where part changes for different instruments sometimes happen at different times.  A song was wanted with main parts that worked well on their own, but also with the parts later mixed to explore the different combinations.  I wanted the bare intensity of a somewhat synthed bass together with a drum kit to be prominent.  As the variation of part combinations builds, the song goes into different types of club and dance vibes.  It remains centered in solid groove and party impact.

Here we talk about aspects of the ills of society, by way of the different types of thief that plague us. This is within a hard core, yet slow, groove in the genres of Funk and (good) Disco.  In this funk / disco / dance piece, old-school standards apply.  A down-home feeling to the groove power makes this something most funk fans can relate to. "Gangland Reflection" evokes the feelings found in old movies of gangland activity. This includes an abstract mix of feelings of ominousness, grandeur, consequence and dignity. Capturing such feelings to create a dramatic and cinematic type of musical impression is at the base of this song.
    This piece is an abstractly evocative one that calls on our memories to create an image of that which we associate with gangland film: serious characters, terrible actions, dire situations and the like. Using the power of strings, this piece reaches deeply to paint a picture taken from our common cinema culture.

Gangland Reflection

You can hate Halloween and hate to dance, and still love this song. It is very much of the genre Electronic, with almost every instrument being that way. It's also a general purpose Dance and Funk jam, just in an Electronic vein. It's just that with its nature, as you can hear, it works very well as a Halloween party song.
