So happy to announce that Oscillate Mix # 41 is provided by Katia aka Katiusha. It is a brilliant showcase of Katia’s vast knowledge about the more leftfield crevices of electronic music. The London-born DJ and radio host has established a versatile profile in the Berlin scene since moving here in 2017. Her radio show “Above The Clouds” on Cashmere explores various physical and emotional connections to different cloud formations by soundtracking them with the help of friends and guest DJs. On the other hand Katiusha loves a good rave and can provide an equally fitting soundtrack to your 140bpm+ club experience. Katia has had appearances on NTS radio, Rinse and is a regular guest on various mix series throughout the web. This mix escorts you slowly from the depth and darkness of Koehler’s - Destroying Angels via Lurka’s bass-heavy - Clean to faster landscapes provided by Heritage and Sibilant. The last third of the mix briefly dives deeper into funkier club sounds, swings back to the body shaking Ctrls Remix of Anastasia Kristensen’s - Volshebno only to land smoothly in the safe arms of Jex Opolis’ - Instant Ocean. Native to China, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East, there is a legend that tells of a Korean hermit, who removed an arrow from a wounded tiger. The tiger asked the hermit to use his powers to perpetuate their friendship after his death. The hermit agreed and when the tiger died, his body became a tiger lily. Eventually the hermit drowned and his body was washed away. The Tiger Lily spread everywhere searching for its friend.

Appropriate considering this species is also known as the Ditch Lily and can be found around ditches in large parts of America. Besides producing a stunning spectacle, a sweet and distinctively lily smell, most parts of this plant are edible.

It was used in ancient medicine throughout Asia. To this day, a tincture is made from the fresh plant and has proved of great value in uterine-neuralgia, congestion and irritation, also in the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.

Since dawn had broken, the man had been sat in his armchair with the phone at his side. He'd hardly moved all day, barely tearing his gaze away from the receiver. He feared that if he left for even one minute, he might miss the call. He drummed his fingers on the table beside him until they started to become callous and hard. He knew he was in for a long wait...

Leeds-based DJ and producer Skins has become synonymous with celestial, dubbed-out soundscapes, showcased on his two self-released hand stamped white labels, SKINS001 and 002. Having taken a couple of years hiatus from the releases, he now returns with the third instalment, two originals and a drum tool that flaunt his knack for crafting weightless dub techno and crisp breaks and percussion.

All proceeds from the sale of the record will be donated to organisations supporting Black people and efforts to end systemic racism, injustice and police brutality. Each of the records comes with an A4 artwork print and a letter to the purchaser.
