Funnily enough, random as it might seem, I bought some Wagon Wheels today for the first time in probably 20 years or more, because I was looking at some Robert E Howard Conan books yesterday, and was reminded of the Asda in Nottingham where I"d buy those books in the late 70s, along with the odd Asimov book and tons of Marvel comics, and the kind of fascination all that held for me somehow, and then that somehow 'grounded' me in a kind of visceral memory of that time, and then in consequence reminded me of the treat of Wagon Wheels my parents would give us in the car afterwards.

Canadian singer-songwriter Ben Caplan is on tour in Europe at the moment with his band and new musical Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, so he dropped by the studio to chat with Robin and Michael Legge, subbing for Josie again whilst she's on maternity leave. They chat of Jewish refugees, squeezing philosophy lines into songs, great music biographies by hard rockers and much more.
