Man, what a night this was... and all thanks to my incredible community (per usual!!!) for showing TF up and dancing with me in the middle of the night in the middle of the beautiful NASP Summer Camp fairy forest <3 To be perfectly honest, this was an especially hard set for me to play. Running on very little sleep on top of feeling physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted after a whirlwind of a weekend, I was having some serious doubts that I'd be able to pull it together. It was the lowest energy I've probably ever been/felt... I was struuuuggling... to say the least. But the energy of the dance floor, the smiling faces, the hands in the air, the LED necklaces lighting up the night sky... this all (well, you all) gave me the strength I desperately needed to carry on... and boy, am I glad that I did! A collection of some of my latest afro, tribal and world house favorites (plus a little bit of grooviness ;)) - this late night set took us all over the map... and the world! Plurpura's Friend Chapter #10 EINIDA ELEVEN

Amidst the dead of winter, the musical excitement and vitality at Gospël burns bright and warmly throughout the night.  This was especially true on the night of January 30th of this year, when 2melo came by and curated a special and magical musical journey. 

2melo's selection weaved together tracks in different languages, from different times and places, taking the dance floor on an international tour de force.  His deft mixing brought these seemingly disparate elements together as rhythms from Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa spoke to each other throughout the night.  A DJ is not often thought of as a translator, yet 2melo assumed this mantle this night by bridging musical cultures together.  The dance floor maintained a continuous state of ecstatic excitement as we traveled together through such a varied musical soundscape. 

Such sets remind us how Gospël stands at the vanguard of nightlife in New York, as a place where the unexpected is often realized in creative and exciting ways.  One night we will dance again, but until then our memories of nights like this will warm our hearts.
