Just came across this- what a tune - well done

Turbo explores the future primitive with NEW JACK TRIBAL. First instalment in this new series comes courtesy of emerging Canadian talent: @Clariannorth, @Hreno, @MikeMind and label A&R @VonParty.

Bridging the gap between the psychedelic world-beat of newly launched sister-label Multi Culti and Turbo’s forward-looking techno and house stylings, these four tracks offer distinct yet consistently straightforward takes on the tribal trance-out. 

Visionquest-native Clarian’s icy-cool ‘Inuit’ kicks things off with a super hypnotic groove… the perfect soundtrack to an acid-ice-fishing trip gone right and an optimal DJ tool for the very early or very late hours. 

Berlin-resident and Canadian ex-pat Hreno (Fur Trade, Autochtone, etc) is next up with ‘Tree Trunks,’ an expertly assembled rhythm track built on top of a bubbling bassline sure to get the party rolling. 

Turbo and Multi Culti A&R Thomas Von Party takes the party from the forest into the jungle with ‘Pygmy Funk,’ an overtly primitive journey built on wood knocks, bird sounds and the deep throb of tom and bongo. 

Finally, the supremely-talented Mike Mind turns in a downtempo bomb that will highlight your cave-party playlist.

You can see Connan Mockasin in glorious live action this autumn, when he and his band embark on their own headline tour of the UK, playing dates across the country at the end of September. Having already toured with Warpaint in the summer, as well as scoring the first short film from acclaimed video director Kinga Burza, and collaborating with the idiosyncratic likes of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Sam Eastgate of Late of the Pier, it is certain that the eccentric pleasures of Connan Mockasin aren’t going to stay a cult secret for too much longer.

"French pop singer/songwriter Cosmobrown debuted his career in 2004 with EP Jumpin’ 4 Joy (SET), a live-sounding conglomeration of electro sonorities and savory soul produced by power duo Volga Select . After electrifying the Paris underground scene for a good semi-decade, Cosmobrown returned in 2010 with a full-length studio album titled Playin’ with Ya, a cool blend of electro and funk which did little to satiate Cosmobrown’s appetite for more raving pop fare. Late 2014 saw the release of Tragic Holiday, an ode to the old school power pop and electro funk of the 80’s, borrowing its catchiest and most rousing beats from the period.
