Passing through menacing territories or raging skies, they are pulled by a form of life. The quantum attraction leading our two travelers towards this mysterious tunnel grows higher and higher. It feels like a part of themselves is already on the other side. Behind this gate lies Otrohn, the lost city.

Delivering the mix for our fourteenth Spotlight is the Dutch Live Performance Artist Dissolver.

Dissolver is one of those special artists with an aim to showcase his very unique sound to the world with a killer mentality. Dissolver is an upcoming Live Performance artist, having started out just recently with releasing his music but already booking major success with releases on Nina Kraviz's trip label. His motto 'Live hardware techno but not as serious' is exactly what you can expect of his mix for BASIS. Remarkable samples, deep kicks, and sometimes a cheeky edit are things you’re likely to come across during one of his sets.

Aleto is a Colombian DJ based in Berlin, where he started his musical career. His vision embodies strong emotions and embraces the rebellious and esoteric aspects of techno, as for him music is an entity and musicians a channel of transmission. The sharing of energy and the fusion between human, machine, consciousness and technology are important aspects.

His sound fits the highest standards of techno and stays true to its DNA, delivering exciting dark atmospheres that aim to activate a high energy flow in every soul summited to the experience, while big room kicks set a narrative line that carries you away on the dancefloor.

We are thankful for this special set he prepared for us and are excited to share it with you all. It starts with a Colombian track that truly portraits the situation there at the moment, even though the track is 5 years old. Throughout the set he unleashes a lot of anger concerning the status quo and aims to portray an apocalyptical yet emotional closing.

Parisian label Skryptöm continue with a persistent release schedule following an album from fellow French artist by Maxime Dangles titled Chanfleury. Soon available will be the second remix that includes reimagined versions of his originals by Remco Beekwilder, Wlderz, Xl.iks, Maëlstrom, and Giselh.

Flying high is Dutchman Remco Beekwilder who not only runs his EMERALD imprint, but can be found contributing tracks and remixes to labels such as Dax J’s Monnom Black, Exos’ Planet X and Cleric’s Clergy amongst others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected Remco’s remix of “Gigi” that has a patient intro of ambience before the rolling toms and kick take over. Carved and well-sculpted percussion provide the driving force, while being met with dreamy pads, vocal chants and a poignant mood.
