Here's a new selection of soulful music for your ears pleasure. I had a few listeners telling me that Eclectic Soul puts them in the right mood to get productive and do creative things. Some listen to it will studying and others while they're running. What about you ?

This show features music from the last 10 years with new bits from Melodiesinfonie, Taylor McFerrin, a killer remix from Classik Swiss Chocolat, Swiss fresh band Lady Bazaar, two picks from Mo Kolours album, as well as a couple tunes from the great and only album released by swedish artist Hird, one from the beautiful Oldtwig's LP out on Phonosaurus and many other great pieces.

Did you watch the Apple TV show Severance? I think it's a masterpiece on many levels, including the soundtrack by Theodore Shapiro.

This is a remix of an ambient music that plays during the 'wellness sessions' of the workers in that TV show. Hope you like it.

Peu de choses

Being emotionally broken and highly immature until my early 30s, I created only few opportunities to develop my sexuality. Heck! my strongest – semi-conscious – belief was that no woman will ever want to be with me, because I felt unattractive and socially incapable. Even after a few validations in my 20s, I still unconsciously held that destructive belief.

One of the thing that helped me heal – and I'm still recovering – is making music. For years it was instrumental mostly. I never had a strong intention to use my voice. But after a few girls said how they liked it, I timidly started to play with it.

I channelled loads of my sexual energy in these songs. It helped me to express my desires and embrace who I am, what I feel, what makes me a man who loves women and want to love them openly.

I also think that these songs acted like a springboard in my journey as an artist and helped in defining my own style. I was even able to express other parts of me, connected to the sexual energy: my playfulness and quirkiness.

I hope this music will help you relax and feel sexy and loving.

"You'll never get it, if you don't slow down my friend."

Introduction of my album. 

This is a superposition of two scenes from two different films. The dialog with low keys on the background is from 'Smoke', by Paul Auster and Wayne Wang. The higher piano is a portion of Keith Jarrett Live in Köln (1975), which was used on a scene in the Italian movie 'Caro diario' by Nanni Moretti.

An homage to cinema and all the great people making such films that area really inspiring to me.

This is another superposition of recordings. We hear a grand piano played by my man Manu aka Papâ (@monpapa) and myself in July 2016, mixed with some moments I lived in Matino (where I learned to walk, danced, cried and laughed for the first time) with my aunties, uncle and dad, June 2016 and September 2016.

This is a reworked/advanced version of a very simple track I made and shared in the beginning of 2014. So we can say it's a three years work even though I didn't touch it for long periods of time.

The vocal was there since the very first version. I love to share deep thoughts and experiences through my music and it's especially enjoyable to do it with movie sampling. This one is 'Before Sunset' by Richard Linklater. Check out his films, that's one of my biggest source of inspiration.

Another draft I "finished". It started with the piano loop from a jam I recorded in December 2016 at my friend's in Rodalquilar. I added up an additional trumpet take I didn't use for 'bristol chords'.

Vocals are taken from a CD I found at the library : "Le Chant Des Femmes Bulgares".

As I get more emotionally detached from my work, I don't really know much what to think about it. I kinda like it, though I hear a voice that says "it could be better". Sure, but in in the end, it is what it is. And I move on.

At the beginning of 2020 I committed to release a new project every 7th of the month.

Though I realised I'm not ready to drop something good with such consistency. Yet. That's still my goal and it will happen soon enough.

I did get many tracks done in the last months. But right now I don't have anything that I like and want to release stylistically.

I became victim of my eclecticism somehow. My strength is also my weakness.

I thought I'd share a collection of drafts instead so you can have a taste of my daily output and ... my musician's schizophrenia (laugh).

All of the 45 tracks except 2 where made in one session of 15 to 60 minutes.

I'm currently working on 10 tracks to finish. Those aren't part of this collection.

Most importantly : I'd like you to let me know if you have a crush with one or more of these musical ideas. Might help me prioritising the next tracks to finish.

This isn't music in my style really, but thought I could share it anyway.

I was exploring Ableton Packs I got on my laptop since forever. Came across this nice ensemble of loops and ended up arranging this instrumental with my rapper friend in mind. 30-min work.
