Maison D’etre’s moody masters have been at it again. Long-time friends, Gel Abril and Anthony Middleton have combined forces to produce more than a collaborative EP. ‘All in the Mind’ is a dexterous fusion melding what could be considered contrasting styles into balanced compliment. ‘All in the Mind’ is murky, provocative, groovy- all that is that is Maison D. Contrast and compliment, space and balance, much like a friendship this two-track EP shows off the strength of dynamic collaboration, honouring differences and never conformity.

‘All in the Mind,’ showcases both producers’ unique craft; fusing Gel Abril’s signature techno sound with Anthony Middleton’s melodic and spacious arrangements. Thought provoking vocals stretched out across a landscape of rhythmic pads. A tribal space voyage, both stirring and calming, complex yet simple- experiential and unreal all in perfect contradiction. Dark and hypnotic with a techno pad breakdown this beat-rider evokes imagination...It is, after all, ‘All in the Mind’.

‘Hey You’ is a classic track reinvented with some contemporary techno flare. Classic vocals, airy and distant, are laid over super modern tech and synth sounds in a digital Ping-Pong style. This track is all about rhythmic drive with old-school baseline, a combination that is bound to keep the feet dancing well past 4am.

Während ich in einer Bar in Tel Aviv sitze und ein Goldstar trinke, erinnere ich mich daran, wie mein Papa mir früher vom Gewässer Totes Meer erzählt hat. Ein Gewässer, von dem die Erfahrungen mit der Schwerkraft in Frage gestellt werden, fern, lebensfeindlich, weit weg. Nun bin ich hier, mich trennen nur gut hundert Kilometer von diesem sonderbaren Ort und morgen werde ich mich auf den Weg machen. 

Später berichtet mir ein Mann am Nebentisch, der mich angesprochen hat und mit dem ich ein Bier trinke, dass das Tote Meer ein wirklich schräger Ort sei.Von Tel Aviv sei es nicht weit und alleine des Nachts an den Ufern des Toten Meeres könne man Dinge sehen und zwar nicht nur dann, wenn man zu viel geraucht hätte. Sondern es sei ein mystischer Ort, ein Ort außerhalb des normalen Raumes und außerhalb der normalen Zeit. 

Durch so eine Landschaft bin ich bisher noch nie mit dem Auto gefahren, ich staune und freue mich und schließlich passiere ich den Parkplatz „Meereshöhe“. Aber es geht noch viel weiter hinunter, das Tote Meer ist mit etwa -400 Metern schließlich der tiefste Punkt der Erde. 

Und schließlich liegt das Tote Meer vor mir. Der Horizont verschwindet im Flimmern der von Mineralstaub trüben Luft. Es ist wie in einem Traum, in dem man nur das fokussiert wahrnimmt, was direkt um einen herum liegt. Alles, was weiter weg ist, ist unscharf und diffus, wie in einem Nebel aus Licht. 


Lasst euch vom Duo Serioes und Legendäer an diesen mystischen Ort entführen. Sie erfüllen den Lichtnebel mit Effekten aus Raum und Zeit und geben dem Ort ein waberndes Gewand aus sich windenden Tönen und Melodien.

Ahoi.
Da saßen wir still und heimlich im Fuchsbau und lauschten dem Geflüster des Waldes. Es kam eurem Käpt’n www.soundcloud.com/rolandson wie eine Ewigkeit vor, so ganz ohne Wasser unter’m Kiel und Möwengeschrei. Es machte fast den Anschein, als würden wir eine Ayahuasca - Zeremonie, dort im Erdloch abhalten. Die aber wollte der Käpt’n dann doch lieber mit www.soundcloud.com/spak am Rande des Amazonas durchführen. So haben wir Segel gesetzt und sind mit starken, eisigen Winden und ein wenig Hilfe von Poseidon Richtung schwül-warmer Luft und indianischen Klängen geschippert. Als dann endlich Land in Sicht war, ließen wie das Beiboot zu Wasser, denn wir hatten uns www.soundcloud.com/heimlichaufsc für ein Treffen am Strand verabredet. Von dort aus sollte es für uns dann 2 Tage lang zu Fuß, quer durch den Dschungeln gehen - was ja des Seefahrers Ding nicht so recht ist - wir kamen uns dabei ein wenig wie James Cook, der alte Entdecker, vor - nur das unsere Absichten wesentlich friedvoller waren und psychotischer Interessen galten. Von weitem schon hörten wir die ersten Trommeln und je näher wir unserem Ziel kamen, um so intensiver wurden Gesang und Klang. Es war berauschend und wir verließen ohne großes Zögern das Raum Zeit Kontinuum - alles weitere erzählt euch unser Freund Spät in seinem Mix. Steckt euch ein Pfeifchen an, dreht `nen Dübel oder macht euch ein leckeres Getränk und fliegt mit uns, Aye.
