Who is San Miguel?

Ever since he was a child the acoustic world was always the centre of San Miguels universe. Grown up in East Berlin he was diving deeper and deeper into the sound of the multifarious city of tunes. Music turned into his clear passion. The sound is contemporary, deep and emotional. In all of his productions you can hear the extatic diversity combined with a fresh tune. In 2008 San Miguel established the Berlin record label „Phonothek Records“. As a creative and outgoing guy he wanted to share his passion in many ways, so he founded „Einfach Liebe“ which is a community of various artists and a pool for a variety of events. All in the mission of love.

Niki is a Vancouver-based DJ and musician. From raiding her parents’ record collection when she was just a child, to becoming resident at Vancouver’s MIA, Niki has continuously been living with the music in the forefront. Within a very short time, she has put herself on the map as an up and coming DJ. 

Niki conveys her expression of life to listeners and engages crowds through her live sets when she’s behind the decks , and through dozens of podcasts and studio mixes. Her sets have been described as musical journeys, charming listeners and at the same time inviting them to dive into their own individual world of sensations. 

Niki is the host of Allure on Frisky Radio which airs every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

The East Berlin native San Miguel started his electronic music career in early ages. Infected by the underground sounds of that legendary era, the young and enthusiastic dj and producer quickly developed his skills to a professional level and established his first successful vinyl record label „Phonothek Records“ a few years later. As a pronounced philanthropist and nature lover he wanted to find a way to share his passions in a more organic atmosphere and founded „Einfach Liebe“ as a community of different artists and a pool for a variety of events such as Open Airs, Workshops and healing arts.

San Miguel’s musical signature is defined by his various interests and influences of his travels through time and space which manifests itself into a soundscape of hypnotic spheres and deep driven basses. Often combined with folkloric elements and a range of organic instruments, his sound weaves unique tales that carries the audience gently and straight into an ecstatic dance experience. He is a master for clashing the styles and shows a deep instinct for timing and suspense as he draws a bow throughout his mixes that will move any dance-floor that thrives on powerful global beats and psychedelic rhythms. That special composition led him release his own productions on labels such as Lump Records, Underyourskin Records, Pipe & Pochet, LNDKHN, Cosmic Awakenings, Serafin Audio Imprint and Souq Records.

Together with LaniAkea, he launched in 2018 his second electronic music label „MŎNɅDɅ“ based by the philosophical monad as expression of the pure eternal essence which exists in every living being. The label represents a playground for handpicked and visionary electronic sounds that are offering vibrational healing through love and passion. As „Mônada Project“ the two free spirits San Miguel & LaniAkea are leading a PA- rental, hosting sound- healing journeys, gatherings, festivals and co-create together with the global tribe. All in the mission of LOVE. ♥

Hilary Mertaugh is a DJ and childbirth nurse based in San Francisco, California. With her roots in the analogue world of folk music, Hilary played old time fiddle music for square dances for many years before discovering her intoxicating love for downtempo electronic dance music. Hilary combines her love of organic and downtempo moods with more driving tech house beats to create her smooth and sensual sound.
