A Bob Dylan/Nick Cave inspired tune I made.  I play guitar, harmonica, bass guitar and a little piano.

Here Where I Lie

The other day we buried a friend.  He loved the ocean.  To many of us, the ocean is to play in, provide food and therapy. A lot of the ceremony (including a paddle-out)was centered around a place called Cosy Corner.  After I came home from the wake, I picked up my guitar and this tune came straight-out of my fingers without any conscious thought process.  I think the music contains the mixed emotions I felt that day.  Sad he was gone.  Pleased he was loved.  Happy for the memories. Along with other feelings hard to describe.  I thought I should share the tune - a diddy perhaps - with the world.

Cosy Corner

This is as close as I can get to a love song.  It is one man's love for the ocean.  I released a version a few years ago. Being that was my first singing, I got nervous and hid behind a heavier electric guitar version.  However, the tune was always an acoustic guitar song.  Why do I spend hours making these for a handful of listens?  Because, it is fun!! I hope someone out in the world likes it :)

Coming from a cold area of a relatively wealthy country, we sometimes travel to warmer less well off (but awesome) parts of the world where the dollar gets you to live like some kinda royalty for a short time.  How is this possible?  Because the people there are doing it hard.  As I sit in the luxury hotel by the pool looking over the fence at those working in the hot sun for small change.  This is the song sung back to me over the fence.

This tune was influenced by the intro music to the film Babylon (1981).

I guess it is dub (so hard to categorize music) but it is not Augustus Pablo  (with respect to him and RIP) style dub. If anyone else has a suggestion as to the genre or anything else - please let me know. 

AND Babylon is falling - is it not?  I could go on but i wont, prepare.....

A tune born out of doing regular night walks in summer and seeing so many sitting around their houses.  I hope someone likes it.  I'm not sure it is R&B Soul, I am open to suggestions.

I had a very vivid dream one night that Marc Bolan from T-Rex was showing me how to play this song. It was one on one lesson with the neck of his guitar less than a metre away and me asking what to do etc. I woke and played and then recorded it immediately. I have always liked T-Rex but i wouldn't say I am a huge fan. I do not even think this tune sounds heaps like a TRex song...but then again may be it does a little. I never finished this song but I like it so I thought I should put it out to the world.  Georgia L sings amazingly this Adele version of a Cure song.

I never finished the recording/mixing/mastering on this.  The guitar is  only one take from start to finish as a "I'll try this."  But there is something in the mistakes I like.

I hope someone enjoys this offering.
