Curated by founder Alexander Horne (DJ Uraki Riddim) with Duncan Grant (CAIN) & Rich Jones (Niven Trust) - the compilation has a nod to the trio’ & label’ Scottish roots. Tracks from Aberdonian T_A_M & Glasgow-based artist Susannah Stark tie illuminate their respective off-kilter patterns with a folk spirit.

CAIN hatches a snarling dance floor builder in ‘Talas’. Across the North Sea come tracks from skweee boss Beatbully & the enigmatic Center of the Universe - lofi analogue fun with no v-neck seriousness in sight. From fjord funk to the warm rhythmical pads of blanali and the bright uplifting synth- driven ‘Whisper’ by Lazy H.

There are heads down percussive moments too with a new twist from Herman on his myoclonus drum riddims, a teaser for his 3rd EP due in 2023, and a head nodding broken beat number by SP wizard Pursuit Grooves - a long standing friend of the label since her Sonar show way back in 2010! Watch out the Belgiums are coming, D-Nite gives us some of that lowlands rave energy in ‘Glistening Dust’ - a snappy prelude to his forthcoming ‘Echoes EP’.

Closing things out, and kicking things off, is the epic ‘Glossolalia’ by the LA composer Jon Lloyd. An expansive beat-less composition that nods to film scores and floating in space. Watch out for an album from him in the not too distant future.

Этот микс, это «выжимка» skweee треков с восточными мелодиями и гармониями, по большей части тюркского происхождения.Примечательным в миксе является то, что каноничный скви, это медленный брейкбит стиль, но в миксе есть и треки с прямой бочкой «four-on-the-floor» - от норвежского продюссера Center of the Universe и немецкого музыканта Coco Lowres. Тут тебе и итало-диско с «зурной» и регги риддим Sleng Teng вперемешку с космическим грувом и кисленькое восточное техно, переходящее в брейкс . Но по большей части в миксе используются классические треки, известные всем кто когда-либо был слушателем скви или был непосредственным участником интернационального скви движа.

Center Of The Universe aka Dj Sissyfus is a Norwegian electronic music producer who recently turned his output into a mixture of unique ethno disco & warm synthpop. Live, he presents us with enchanting lyrics, catchy melodies, pinches of acid and clarinette playing. He has been releasing close to 15 albums, performing in numerous live bands and has been running his own label Metronomicon Audio since 2000. 

Center of the Universe has been active in the Norwegian underground music scene since 1998 and has in addition to participating in several other projects, found the time to release a whole host of solo albums, including a trilogy where the theme was space and time. It is difficult to give a clear definition of the band’s musical impression, as this tends to change from release to release, but it would not be wrong to say that melody is always at the center. What apparently may begin as a pop song entice you into a world where nothing is as it seems and musical expectations are seldom met. For the Center of the Universe no surna is too high and no bass too deep. He has always walked off the beaten path next to the road less travelled and keeps trudging on in a landscape where the sun shines, vulcanoes erupt and it’s raining guitars, sitars and just plain’ol tars.
