Claptone steps out of the shadows once again with ‘The Music Got Me’, an exciting new offering from the mysterious enigma with the golden mask. 'Music Got Me' by Claptone is an authorised cover version of 'Music Got Me' by Visual which has been approved and licensed by Unidisc the rights holder.
As you would expect of new Claptone, 'The Music Got Me’ is destined for late nights and packed clubs all over, such are the enchanting powers of this otherworldly beast. However this new offering goes further still. The achingly cool 80s NYC disco/postpunk flavour combines with a distinct Chicago bassline to offer an exciting glimpse of the eclectic, indie vibe of his debut artist album.

Claptone’s last two releases ‘No Eyes’ and ‘Ghost’ both topped the Beatport charts, the latter of which featured Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! (a collaboration we can only assume was arranged by some sort of séance). They went on to become enormous smashes on Berlin house label Exploited, earning the plaudits of the biggest DJs and setting Claptone off on a non-stop DJ tour across the globe.

It’s remarkable that the masked man has still found time in his tour schedule to deliver big remixes for the likes of Metronomy, The Pet Shop Boys, Rüfüs, Klaxons and Gregory Porter (which is currently No.1 in Beatport's Deep House charts).

2015 will also see Claptone embark on a run of ‘Immortal Live’ dates, a unique A/V experience which brings together a full set of Claptone creations (MIAMI ULTRA FESTIVAL – 29/3, BRUSSELS PIAS NITES – 4/4, GERMANY MELT! FESTIVAL 17/7, LONDON SW4 FESTIVAL – 29/8).

The always unpredictable and wildly creative Riva Starr returns to Saved Records for the second installment of his Raw Edits EP. Once again delving into an eclectic soundscape that references a plethora of genres, styles and tempos, Riva highlights why is the master of the edit yet again.

First up, Riva settles into addictive dubby atmospheres whilst splicing together the gospel vocals of Roland Clark’s ‘President House’ with the energetic groove of Sante Sansone’s ‘Groove Vibration.’ Thick swabs of bass pulsate between jackin’ beats which build and build throughout the track, mirroring the escalation of the impassioned vocals that bellow out over the top.

Setting off to work on Alex Under’s ‘Hacer La Compra’ Riva gives a demonstration on the workings of nailing a subtle edit.  Staying true to the original, he keeps things relatively stripped back to begin with, allowing jangling synths to flutter over fluid bass and quick percussion. That sense of swinging funk is then opened up by brilliant use of distorted FX, woozing keys and syncopating electronics.

With his edit of Gene Farris’ ‘Welcome To Chicago’ and Ron Costa’s remix of Miguel Bastida’s ‘Ketanima’ Rivaa digs into deep, dubby textures reminiscent of the heyday of Chicago house. Built around warm pads, melodic synths and surges of deep bass, the track has a laidback vibe but powered by a distinctly underground momentum.

The third time is the charme...that's right. Thus, the joy about the third album by Marek Hemmann is huge. Likewise, the third album is perceived as an important brand which ought to show the actual extent of a musician's potential. Either hold one's ground or dare something new? Marek Hemmann is not deterred by such expectations. He was merely in the mood for new tracks. The eight newcomers on "Moments" sound accordingly - easygoing, detached and characterised by the same profoundly and harmonically balanced musicality for which Marek Hemmann is world-renowned.  Anyhow, a "just continue as before" mentality is not an option for the Berliner by choice - from the beginning, his music effortlessly blurred the established genre lines. In this vein, his new work is influenced by a great candour.

As already accomplished with his highly esteemed albums "In Between"and "Bittersweet", in "Moments" Marek Hemman takes the listeners - and certainly the dancers - on a journey through different spheres of contemporary electronic music. Nestled in "Helio" and "Bob" branches to significantly different moods are introduced from silent pauses to weightlessly lifting off to dancing around dreamily.  Yet, within the many interwoven details, a noticeable sophistication can be picked out. Even more seamless and subtle, Marek Hemmann manages to unite euphoria and sweet melancholy, playful and sublime sounds, warmly shifting basses and sweeping synth-melodies.

"Moments" provides moments of life and moments on the dancefloor with the fitting soundtrack. We are very happy about this.

The rain hadn't stopped for days, a constant downpour that soaked you through to the bone. People feared to step outside into the open and instead had taken refuge in their houses. Now, little noise could be heard throughout the town except for the consistent pitter patter of raindrops on the corrugated steel roofs. This had become the soundtrack to their days, the beat to which they danced in the confines of their home. Bailando was their only escape from the continuous thrashings of mother nature. 

Mexico-based imprint Duro are gearing up to release their next EP from one of their label mates Tyu. Ransom Note mainstay Bawrut, alongside Tel Aviv producer Niv Ast, take on remixing duties, twisting the punkish drums and melodic synths of 'Bailando' into a peak time track littered with freakish vocal yelps and driving synths.
