Over three brooding, technical rollers, British Berlin transplant @asec_music ushers his distinctive synth-line skullduggery unto a volley of powerful future-tribal rhythms.

With a nod to both UK Techno rhythms and D'n'B melodics, 'Trauma Bond' layers ASEC's own vocals amongst a cinematic and mechanical churn of swirling pads and staccato stabs. Both 'Disappearing Act' and 'Cambrian Seas' maintain the pressure, with fiendishly syncopated synth work set to a detailed contemporary throb.

@magnapia a.k.a seasoned producer, DJ, and composer Hüseyin Evirgen, announces his second full-length album, ‘QUT’, arriving on Inland’s Counterchange label in March on double vinyl.

After 2 steamrolling EPs of club tracks on the label - now entering its tenth year of action - Magna Pia presents his most complete and advanced body of work to date, weaving a dense narrative of drone, figurative synthesis, bass-heavy electronica, and abstract techno.

Over eight tracks each referencing his rich cultural and musical background, we are treated to a unique overview of a producer at the crest of his art. The word ‘Qut’ is an ancient positive affirmation, in one short word encompassing all that is sacred, pure and good. The Old Turkic term meaning not only ‘good fortune’ and ‘joy’, but in shamanic circles, the ‘wonder of the heavens’, permeates the roots of Evirgen’s multi-heritage history.

That Evirgen expresses his interpretation of this central theme through the marriage of bewitching melodies with atonal, experimental and rumbling electronics is a conscious comment on the distortions and mutations of our Modern Era. We now exist in the digital age of the Technosphere for better or worse, and must seek beauty wherever possible.

The opening ‘Prologue’ invites the listener into a futuristic yet organic sound world, where lush stereo processing goes hand in hand with rumbling bass and subtly detuned drone languages. From the echoes of traditional Uyghur folk music, translated via synthesizers into a glistening slow-diving opus (‘Qizil’), to churning dub-techno adorned with a symphony of evolving sine-waves (‘Venus M’), Evirgen then deploys ‘X’ - a haunting experimental piece composed predominantly with his voice and electronic processing.

The interweaving synth lines of ‘Gudanna’ pierce the fog with a radiant and transcendent club-techno bounce before the ode to the ancient Bronze Age goddess ‘Astarte’ unfolds its snare-driven broken-beat formations. The title track ‘Qut’ embodies by far the heaviest club track of the album, in a deadly, stripped-back moment of future-techno hypnotism. Dancing flames of purple-tongued synthesis are held (just) in line by a wonderfully tough throb of drums.

With his ‘Epilogue’, Magna Pia allows the spectral ideas and concepts laid out across the LP to connect and travel full circle, confirming our suspicions that this could be one of the most coherent and exciting works to emerge in the brave new field of introspective, and sensitive techno-electronic language.

After laying the groundwork with a string of smoked-out, minimalist releases on his own Liminal imprint, the Budapest-based producer now presents his most dynamic body of work to date.

Taking a welcome non-conventional approach to production, Itoyama's sonic language travels effortlessly from textural minimal techno rumblings, up-tempo broken beat studies, and hypnotizing melodic ambience. Each track patiently builds and recedes, creating perfect tools for ambitious DJs.

A mainstay on Stockholm's underground club scene, we proudly welcome @jo-bubbles aka Jonas Dahlström with his debut on Globuli.

After a handful of gorgeous disco-meets-acid-house records for local labels like Västkransen and The Transient Nature of The Disco Business, Jonas hands in a fine new chapter for the label. With a unique breezy touch, Jo's sound looks to proper US deep house, 90s ambient techno and early trance for its sonic palette, fusing complex melodies, textural synthesis, stomping, playful grooves and acid lines.

British producer Koehler @koehler-1 drops an EP of psychedelic house mutations complete with a tripping remix by Globuli label creator Ed Davenport.

Some 12 years after signing his first technoid house mutations on Skudge’s ‘White’ imprint, clear traces of that essential, odd-ball rave spirit are still at large in Daniel Koehler’s music. It’s meditative body music with a common thread: to transport the listener to a dramatic sound space, an extension of reality, parallel to the dancefloor.

Percussive odysseys ’The Doom Fulfilled’ and ‘Gate To The Infinite’ are backed up with the baggy swing of ‘Eternal Lie’ - each harnessing a multitude of samples and sound signatures, populating the tracks like a cast of characters. They come alive with a left-field, psychedelic edge, building with rapturous ease.

Ed Davenport hands in a captivating remix of ‘The Doom Fulfilled’, pairing Koehler’s percussion and samples with a freaky, untamed synth hook. For lovers of extended mixes, a version with a classic breakdown is also included, and Ed mastered the EP in line with Globuli’s crispy sound manifesto.

Counterchange is back with a new CO-OPS compilation for 2025, welcoming back Conrad Van Orton, Magna Pia, Ariel Me Llamo, Seiichiro Itoyama, Discrete Circuit and Stefan Alexis. 

The third instalment in the series also introduces a host of new friends to the label, with established forces like Tapefeed, Peryl and Yoikol joining brave newcomers Sednoid and INDACID, who will all release full EPs within the next 12 months. 

Of course label creator Inland (Ed Davenport) is also present, teaming up on 2 collaborations and serving up a nervous bass-funk exercise under his Civilian alter ego.

VOL.3 plays through like a DJ set - a 13-track shipment of fresh modern techno ranging from edgy minimalist head-trips to straight-up funky rocket ships… and everything in between.

Summoning the early rave day spirits once again, veteran British producer and DJ @neville-attree returns to Globuli with the second act of his two part LP, ’The Ghosts of Askers Motel’

Completing the narrative after the glistening first act, Neville explores ecstatic acid house, baggy electronic dub and writhing electro - heavily laden with this own vocodered vocals and signature synth melodies, soundbites, samples. 

A fully balanced and well extracted blend of early 90s basement vibes and bittersweet contemporary pop-house, Act Two wraps up a huge body of work, consolidating 20 years of friendship and collaboration between Attree and Globuli label creator Ed Davenport, who helped compile, mix and master the LP.

Blasting off with a purpose, ‘One Day’ is a crisp moment of piano-house bliss. Heavy sub basslines and breakbeats come alive amongst a bubbling, emotional club burner. That's followed by the cavernous electro of ‘Save My Soul (Again)’, carrying a poignant message at its arpeggiating, robotic heart.

Classic acid house references and dubbed out piano stabs feature heavily throughout Act Two, elevating the listener to heightened states - both the dusty vinyl apparitions of ‘Xtro AAcid’ and the chugging, Weatherall indebted daydream of ‘Inner-space’ come on in a synthetic rush of multicolour waves.

Capturing multiple snapshots in time spent on the dance floor, in the DJ booth, the after-hours on the beach and the long journey home, Neville’s skills in sonic storytelling really shine in this accomplished and honest portrait of a true acid house convert, now in his fifth decade and going stronger than ever.

As Neville’s ghostly female accomplice remarks on the fuzzy electro-pop throb of (the perhaps autobiographical) ‘Capture my Imagination’:

“…it’s safe to say the life we chose is not for everyone!”
