Tierra de Ovnis is the new musical project of Jesus Cuevas through which he tries to merge electronic Indie sounds with the energy of the most powerful places on Earth. With more than 10 years in the night music business, under the moniker of previous musical projects like JCL and Digital flowers, he played in festivals like EDC, released on international labels like Frequenza and Piston Recordings, and was also Party Boss producer in Tepoztlan with his CONSTELACION project. All over the years, Tierra de Ovnis has acquired the experience and knowledge to express with his music and show performance the energy to keep people dancing and connecting. Having his music studio in mythologic Tepoztlan, Tierra de Ovnis’ sonority is inspired by the energy and vibes a mountain town naturally gives infusing with the craziest and most advanced electronic sounds you can find imitating the UFOs contacts that are common in the area. In his performances, expect Indie Dance, Electronica, Organic, and Dark Disco influences.

Electronic music activist since childhood, REM’s MARTINEZ didn’t take long to obtain turntables and learn to master them. Becoming DJ in 2014, he is now active and spotted by Landes stages on which he deliberately plays a music on the margins of conventional techno or house sounds.

In 2015, he founded the collective GARBURE MUSIC with his long-time partner L.HKLéon. The idea is to share their common passion for electronic music and to convey her values all over the AQUITAINE. In 2018, REM’s MARTINEZ joined the LITTLE FAMILY (DJs crew of the LITTLE FESTIVAL) in which he rediscovers a spirit of music sharing and parties.

Lover of dark and haunting lands, REM’s MARTINEZ offers a musical style oscillating between italo disco and new wave, including of course techno ☺

Turned to the production in recent years, REM’s MARTINEZ intends to take you in his retro futuristic universe whatever the way, whatever the reason !

Counterterraism Guest Mix 199: Hans Pech

Studiodue Future - Mixed by Lorenzo LSP

Italian artists I-Robots and Lorenzo LSP have put together two new mixes inspired by the legendary Turin club Studiodue, at which they were residents back in the 80s. The mixes feature an array of timeless deeptechno and eclectic electronic sounds from I-Robots' Opilec Music label, as well as one of his new and exclusive remixes.  Gianluca Pandullo, aka I-Robots, was a resident at the club - formerly a vintage cinema - from the late 80s until 1993 when it closed forever. At that time, Lorenzo LSP was also a DJ and one of the key party promoters. The club first opened in 1979 and soon became internationally renowned for its club nights, live concerts and events. It had a proudly eclectic sound that took in everything from disco, new wave, rare groove, acid, new beat and house to rock, hip hop, acid jazz, reggae, ska and dub.

The club was a foundational space for many in the city, championing black music and providing a safe space for people from the LGBTQ+ community. As a result, Studiodue became home to many vital promotions such as Lorenzo LSP (Latin Superb Posse)’s PopPlanet, House Train, Double Face and the I-Robots’ Sound Of Blackness Thursday. Over the years, many international stars visited, such as Ice-T, Todd Terry, Paul Weller, Frankie Knuckles,DJ Cash Money, Norman Jay, Pete Heller & Terry Farley, David Morales, Desmond Dekker and many more.

Studiodue helped shape several artists, including Lorenzo LSP and I-Robots, which is why the latter conceived this project and his Opilec Music label to mix up past and present influences and take them into the “Future”. 

The mix from Lorenzo LSP is also dancefloor facing, with Italo melodies lighting up the sleek techno and retro electro. There are peak time passages with chunky drum funk and moments of richly soulful techno, all masterfully mixed and sequenced. Tunes from François K, Schaltkreis Wassermann, No More, Gene Hunt, James Kumo and I-Robots make this a serious selection.

These two mixes are a perfect homage to one of Italy's most vital but sorely missed clubs.

Hailing from Madrid and a child of the mid 70's; Rober Alonso sparked his interested in music at a very young age - Playing various clubs and events, especially in Madrid and Edinburgh. 

Growing up immersed in the electronic music of the 80s and 90s, it is clear to understand where his influences derive from.  In recent years he has begun to release productions with slow beats and a dark cut from which his new project arises as "Calma Tensa".

Life, it seemed, had taken a different path, and we, in the harmonious discord of Counterterraism, found an unconventional beauty.
