Hailing from Madrid and a child of the mid 70's; Rober Alonso sparked his interested in music at a very young age - Playing various clubs and events, especially in Madrid and Edinburgh. 

Growing up immersed in the electronic music of the 80s and 90s, it is clear to understand where his influences derive from.  In recent years he has begun to release productions with slow beats and a dark cut from which his new project arises as "Calma Tensa".

"Marcus’ dj-sets could best be described as a retrospective journey into the future, taking on a lot of inspiration from the 80s and 90s with a strong focus on genres such as Italo, Dark Disco and EBM, as well as Synthwave and a hint of Trance.
There’s perhaps no surprise that Marcus' music sounds the way it does since he grew up with computer games, science fiction and hockey anthems. Playful melodies in a futuristic environment presented in a big way—like an anthem is supposed to. 
Marcus started this year by releasing music on Spanish record label Espacio Cielo and Scottish-Spanish label Fixed by Funk (run by Funk D’Void), where he also received superb reviews from Decoded Magazine. During 2022 Marcus will release music on a number of international record labels such as French Mélopée Records and German Feinstoff, to name but a few."

Vital Spark is a music producer from the Highlands of Scotland but now based in Glasgow. His productions are influenced by the more melodic side of underground electronic music. Vital Spark's productions take elements from italo disco, trance, 80's synthpop, and classic house to create upbeat and positive synth-centric dance tracks.

Vital Spark's debut release, 'Curriculum Vital' has been described as '3 rhythmic driven, sense-heightening works on the
Italo driven, synth wave tip. With all cuts having the dance floor in mind and primed, Curriculum Vital supplies a luscious mix journeying melancholy and euphoria throughout' (Risen PR).

Vital Spark's second EP is already complete and ready for release early 2023.

The tracks selected for this mix are just a selection of what I have been listening to lately, and hopefully shows my wide range of influences and versatility as a DJ. I wanted to select the tracks and put the mix together as quickly as possible to give a real sense of what's inspiring me at the current moment in time.

In a world turned upside down, where chaos reigns and uncertainty is the only constant, we, a disparate band of souls, found sanctuary in the most unexpected of places: the Counterterraism Guest Mix Series. The name itself mirrored the core of our purpose.

Counter, the antithesis, and Terra, the Earth, symbolise our ceaseless battle to navigate the tumultuous sea of a world in disarray. 

Week after week, we invite a guest, a luminary of the electronic music realm, to share their melodies and tales. These auditory odysseys become the score for our uncharted lives.

Amidst a world veering from its familiar course, we embrace it. We dance to a new rhythm, a reminder that even in a world turned strange and unrecognisable, our connection to the Earth and one another is a tether to acceptance. Life, it seemed, had taken a different path, and we, in the harmonious discord of Counterterraism, found an unconventional beauty.
