New mix aired a couple of weeks ago on @mutantradio, recorded for my friends at @playgroundrecords , who are celebrating their 9 year anniversary.

Beyond The Struttopshere is a sonic collaboration between Leo Strutt (Strutt Bros DJs) and Ben Chetwood (Flying Mojito Bros, Damian Lazarus’s Ancient Moons) aimed at channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic chugging dark disco. Their debut EP, New Frontier, was released on Gouranga in late 2020 and featured remixes from heavyweights of the scene: James Rod, Mufti and K-Effect. The title track found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity and was featured in The Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. In 2021, the boys released their second EP, ‘Celestial Drift’, on Mélopée Records with Mexican dark disco wizard Roliva delivering a stellar remix. They then featured on Mélopée’s inaugural VA compilation, with the ZZ Top inspired ‘Pontiac Firebird’, and later that year performed remix duties for hybrid alien rock trailblazers, aka The Menzia, on Ilya Santana’s comic disco imprint (Astrolead Recordings). 

Their now trademark sound combines fat chugging basslines with reverbed guitar riffs, 80s-tinged cosmic synths, crunchy power cords, gnarly arpeggiators, spacey 303s, Italo drum fills, and swirling psychedelic delay lines. The boys have a busy year ahead with another hotly anticipated release on Gouranga, now their flagship label, as well as guest mixes on IN DARK WE TRUST, Counterterraism and Heartwood FM. This summer you can catch them DJ’ing at Glastonbury’s infamous Rabbit Hole, Noisily, Secret Garden Party and Heartwood Festival. In the meantime, strap yourselves in for an intergalactic ride Beyond The Struttosphere!

A music junkie at heart it was a natural progression to want to share it with others . My music passion is as strong as ever as is my appreciation of different music styles but still with a deep affinity for psychedelic music, leftfield and eclectic sounds. I have shared my music on dance floors large and small from major music festivals
here in Australia to intimate club gigs and house parties. I have always played music I love and currently present a weekly radio program on 99.9 Bay FM in Byron Bay and I am involved with a live music platform www.buskanova.com that is launching this December. I have worked in the music industry for over 15 years with independent record labels and distributors and have presented radio shows here in Byron Bay and Melbourne for close to 20 years. I don’t play out nearly as much as I used to but love the opportunity when I do and believe it or not this is the first time I have laid a mix down for others to hear and really appreciate that John gave me the opportunity to do this and the push I needed to do it. With already successful releases on labels such as @zonerec @ritmofatale @bordelloaparigi @recordsornotrecords and Interface Records, some of which have been playlisted by many artists, including big names such as Laurent Garnier and Dave Clarke, Jennifer Cardini, Boris Dlugosh, Arnaud Rebotini, Skatebaard & more recently by Vitalic... it looks like we can expect even more musical projects from Endrik in the near future.
