Currently residing in Madrid, melomaniac DJ and music maker; Juan José Montero aka Basic I.D.A. delivers cosmic techno, with a taste for the breaks and hypnotic vibes.  Clearly influenced by styles like post punk, alternative rock & new wave music... Self proclaimed "conscious weirdo", captures the vibe of his electronic journeys well.

On a personal quest for elevated communication from his vision, aimed for inner progress of the human being via electronic music -  Basic I.D.A. is a true music lover by nature - His passion for electronic music began at the end of the 90's, since then he has not stopped traveling around the globe attending the most underground sessions and clubs of the current electronic scene.

His idea focuses on disrupting the master lines of all deformable spectrograms, thus shaping his characteristic vision of electronic dance music as a means of electronic conveyance.

PREMIERE: Mr. Muddy Banks - Itc 2 [openthenext]

For those not familiar with the history of dinosaurs, the giant reptiles were crazy for Balearic grooves. Those who managed to flee to outer space before the fateful mass extinction event claim that the big comet hit in the middle of a massive Jurassic luau. At that time, Ibiza-based duo Residentes Balearicos didn’t exist, but their music would certainly conquer the hearts and minds of the clade Dinosauria.

Their forthcoming “Mediterraneo” EP, soon available on the Spanish label Balearic Ensemble in digital and vinyl formats, is a “treasury of wonderful, eclectic dancing music of the highest Balearic order”, wrote Mikey Sibson in the PR text of the release that comes with not one, but two sunny & breezy interpretations of “Mojada” made with love by Das Komplex (SXDNS029): First, a remix; and second, a tropical and mojito-infused Pineapple Bonus Mix.

Premiered here, the remix brings the trippy and mesmerizing original to a more cosmic realm, kind of invoking the early days of Baldelli’s Astro-Funky/Afro-Freestyle with its (incredible amount of) percussive elements, vocal hooks, and distorted riffs. Pure bliss!

Taking inspiration from the music scene vivid with layered sounds from Mexico, Israel, and Lithuania while incorporating the tempo and intrigue which is usual for Copenhagen.

A call from Turkey and the world to all music enthusiasts!

On February 6, 2023 Turkey and Syria were struck by two massive earthquakes (7,7 - 7,6 on the richter scale) in one day. The severity of the earthquake, the size of the area, the demographic and the large number of people being caught unprepared, combined with the harsh weather conditions, dramatically heightened the effects of this disaster. Since then a lot of local and global efforts have been put together to gather and transfer urgent help to the area, however these efforts are unfortunately inadequate in the face of the size of this catastrophic event. In a bid to help our country and its neighbours, Müstesna Records (TR) have decided to put together a relief compilation in collaboration with Ransom Note on their Dance Music From Planet Earth compilation label (UK).

As of now 48 artists from around the globe have contributed some of their beautiful work. The compilation will be released in two parts with the first part shared on Wednesday 1st March. If we all unite as music listeners, nightlife enthusiasts and all those in between, we will be stronger in size and strength.

Music brings us all together, regardless of our geographic location. We hope that everyone falling under this roof believes in sharing beautiful collective memories, as well as tragedies.

Please help us support the ones who believe that they are part of a global collective family so we can come together on better days…

Amidst a world veering from its familiar course, we embrace it. We dance to a new rhythm, a reminder that even in a world turned strange and unrecognisable, our connection to the Earth and one another is a tether to acceptance. Life, it seemed, had taken a different path, and we, in the harmonious discord of Counterterraism, found an unconventional beauty.
