Hailing from Paris with Bulgarian roots, Karassimeon has dedicated his artistic journey to the electronic sound of past decades, mainly the 70s, the 80s and early 90s.
Disco and EBM are his conflicting obsessions : his motto is “Glitter & Leather”. Above all, his main inspirations are cinematographic and dystopian, embodied by artists such as Goblin, John Carpenter and Giorgi Moroder.

His producer career started with the inevitable encounter with Toulouse based Ritmo Fatale, resulting in the release of a string of tracks embodying their shared passion for both the italo-disco legacy and the French touch sound embodied by Zone, Ed Banger or Institubes records.

Besides this, his love for the sound of the 80s results in an ever-growing collection of edits, which he shares with his community, spreading the love for classics such as Blue Monday by New Order, It's A Sin by the Pet Shop Boys...among many to come

This isn’t a biography—it’s a confession. Club Mayz doesn’t make music for the faint-hearted. Born in Antwerp, raised on glitch and melancholy, he’s the architect of dark disco cathedrals and pulsating, hypnotic soundscapes. But this time, he’s left the dancefloor behind. What he’s created now is raw, jagged, and intensely personal—a sonic excavation into the ghosts of IDM’s golden era.

It starts with a battered Sony Discman and a kid wandering through the chaos of art school. His soundtrack? Pirated CDs of Autechre, Squarepusher, and Bochum Welt, their glitchy rhythms and fractured melodies coursing through his veins like lifeblood. These weren’t just tracks—they were lifelines, cracked windows into another world. Fast-forward to today, and Mayz has reached back into that memory bank, tearing out pieces of his past to reconstruct them as something new, something alive.

This mix is no nostalgic stroll. It’s a razor’s edge between beauty and chaos. Gimmik’s “Wavefiles” shimmers like a sunrise breaking over ruins, while Squarepusher’s “Lambic 5 Poetry” crashes through like a demolition crew at full speed. Herrmann & Kleine whisper comfort into your ear just before Autechre’s “Nine” dismantles everything you thought you understood about music. And then there’s “You Wake Up Every Day”, Mayz’s own creation—a trembling, intimate relic that feels less like a track and more like a hand reaching out from the past, daring you to hold on.

This isn’t just music—it’s survival. It’s the sound of someone navigating the wreckage of memory, finding moments of clarity in the static. It’s haunting, euphoric, devastating. Club Mayz doesn’t ask you to dance; he dares you to feel.

Belgian analogue duo Borokov Borokov present their new EP on Magma Records. Inspired by a surreal, feverish dream by one of its members, World War captures the raw energy of the band’s live performances. 

Incorporating live musicians, including the voices of Lara Chedraoui (Intergalactic Lovers) and Frankie Traandruppel, and co-produced with Youniss Ahamad, the EP showcases Borokov Borokov’s distinctive blend of chaos and artistry while venturing into new dimensions of their sound. Departing from their signature DIY approach, the band enlisted Youniss Ahamad as a co-producer to bring out a visceral, live feel. Drums, bass guitars, and brass instruments layer over their electronic foundation, with guest vocalists adding depth to each track’s unique intensity.

World War is a molten blend of sounds and emotions—a dance between chaos and order, built to radiate heat that pulls listeners into its burning core. Balancing raw analog sequences, mesmerizing chants, distorted effects and hypnotic synth loops, their new output embodies the sounds of a post-apocalyptic dream, influenced by DFA-inspired Electro Funk, echoes of the Italo Disco era, angular post-punk, and trippy Acid House. 

Designed for the eccentrics of the dancefloor, the EP is slated for release on February 28 on vinyl and all digital platforms via Magma Records.

The first track, "Alles," creaks and groans, dragging the EP into motion. Featuring the imposing German chants of Lara Chedraoui ‘Alles’ is both visceral and haunting, raw yet ethereal—an all- encompassing sonic punch to the face, while luring you into the post-apocalyptic unknown. Fueled by a raging dichotomy—like fire and water—the single thrives within a dreamlike setting. Powered by Tim Caramin’s (Youniss) fierce drums, pounding like industrial machinery in full swing, all elements of this track converge in a relentless rhythm.

With its steady bassline and murmured vocals, "Wrong π" lures listeners into Frankie Traandruppel’s meandering musings on pastries—a hypnotic spiral where each word dissolves into a sugary haze. The track’s punchy rhythm and groove evoke the energy of an old DFA record, as if recorded live at an abandoned warehouse in New York, with the groove gradually melting reality like caramel flan and embodying a chaotic discipline. In a world teetering on the edge of order and chaos, Frankie surrenders to entropy, devouring the entire pie: "DON’T BUY MY PIE!"

'If This Is The Title Of This Track You'd Better Listen To A Bob Dylan Song' delivers a layered, rebellious soundscape that boldly declares itself a protest song. Belgian musician Benjamin Hermans’ brass runs against the grain with shifting time signatures, defying conformity while evoking the melting surreality of a dreamscape. Over this, drummer Simon Pas adds a dub drum beat that wavers like a mirage in the scorching sun, his vision blurring until everything fuses into a single black spot—a “dubsturbance” born of heat and dissonance.

In "Uomo," the EP’s final track, Lara Chedraoui’s voice resonates with the line “Ruins bathing in light,” setting a haunting tone over an electro-funk beat in D minor, the saddest of keys. Here, human oblivion shifts to manmade extinction. Switching at times into Italian, the lyrics reveal a striking vision: the driver of the Anthropocene isn’t just “human”—it’s “uomo”, a figure both powerful and tragic. With a nod to Italo disco, "Uomo" flips melancholy on its head, trading lightness for sadness in a dance at the edge of oblivion, like boogieing backwards on an escalator to hell.
