On his show, he likes to invite guests who all pride themselves on their own unique interpretation of post-punk, 80s, electronic music, and encouraging them to explore their roots and get out of their club music comfort zone.

HEY! Did we just hit 300 LAYERS? Seems so. Like on their self-released EP, Each Other managed to cram tons of delicate celestial sounds into their LAYER. 

Justin Strauss is one of the most influential and enduring figures on the New York club scene. He’s consist-ently reinvented himself, moving from his ‘70s power-pop band Milk ‘N’ Cookies through an array of NYC’s most iconic clubs: the Mudd Club, Limelight and Area. By the late ‘80s and early ‘90s he emerged as in-demand remixer, able to reinvent tracks from big hitters as varied as Depeche Mode, 808 State and Duran Duran. That reputation only grew over the years and as a new wave of disco-tinged artists called on his tal-ents, including Hot Chip, Blood Orange and LCD Soundsystem.

Born in Paris, Max Pask also developed his reputation on the NYC scene since his move there in 2000. Re-mixing the likes of Soulwax, The Rapture and WhoMadeWho, Pask has held residencies at a multitude of venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the years. Along with long time friend and partner James Friedman, he also co-manages Throne of Blood Records, on which he has released under different monikers (Populette / Maxime & Remain). The two are currently residents at Brooklyn Hi Fi Club Public Records. In recent years, Max has been heard remixing Hardway Bros, Roe Deers, Mugwump and Timothy Clerkin.

It's like you woke up in the middle of a party, this LAYER of Warum's. Legs start working right from the start. This mix gets overheated quite a few times in its two hours. Equally keeps us entertained with House, Wave, New Beat, and tribal summer leftovers. Its wavy dynamics are its best asset.

A music junkie at heart it was a natural progression to want to share it with others . My music passion is as strong as ever as is my appreciation of different music styles but still with a deep affinity for psychedelic music, leftfield and eclectic sounds. I have shared my music on dance floors large and small from major music festivals
here in Australia to intimate club gigs and house parties. I have always played music I love and currently present a weekly radio program on 99.9 Bay FM in Byron Bay and I am involved with a live music platform www.buskanova.com that is launching this December. I have worked in the music industry for over 15 years with independent record labels and distributors and have presented radio shows here in Byron Bay and Melbourne for close to 20 years. I don’t play out nearly as much as I used to but love the opportunity when I do and believe it or not this is the first time I have laid a mix down for others to hear and really appreciate that John gave me the opportunity to do this and the push I needed to do it. Whilst the mix maybe less polished than some I do hope you enjoy this rough diamond,.

Amidst a world veering from its familiar course, we embrace it. We dance to a new rhythm, a reminder that even in a world turned strange and unrecognisable, our connection to the Earth and one another is a tether to acceptance. Life, it seemed, had taken a different path, and we, in the harmonious discord of Counterterraism, found an unconventional beauty.
