With some perfect Fall weather here in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, and Spring around the corner for those of you in the Southern part of this Blue rock, I've put together my next compilation for the RESONATE mix series that focuses solely on 3 hours of some Deep House grooves to kick back and zone out to. 
When it comes to compiling these for RESONATE, it's not necessarily about putting something together that's always highly energetic or meant for peak time at the venues. My goal for this series is more to create listening experiences across genres that I hopefully keep you coming back for the next one or saving them to favorites to listen again later. To put on and zone out, or have as that go to when you need something for a get together, etc etc. I'll be compiling those peak time sets as well of course😛
My track selection for these is equally as important to me as the transitions between each and every one, and how that translates over the course of the set as smoothly as possible. They're certainly not perfect, but I definitely spend a LOT of time with these digging for each and every track to include in order to hopefully ensure that as much as I possibly can. When I heard my first mix by Sasha back in 97 or 98, I was hooked by the idea of creating mixed sets for this very reason. That you could create such a seamless listening experience for someone to be taken on what felt like a never-ending, yet always changing, audible experience of music. 
In a recent interview with Laurent Garnier, someone I definitely look up to, he mentioned how he's noticed the younger generations today seem to consume music more now these days, rather than actually listen. Particularly just within France that he's observed, and even with his own Son. That they seem to only want or look for the hook or the drop of a song, and then move on to the next without fully listening to a song from beginning to end. In this new world of content, content, content, is this the world we live in now for music in general or maybe just Electronic / House Music? Do people today really only want to hear the good parts of their favorite tracks or most popular tracks, and that's what matters the most? Or are people still interested in experiencing the longer seamless sets meant to take you on a shifting audible journey through music and moods. Anyhow, from beginning to end, I hope anyone enjoys this latest mix for RESONATE. If you happen to like what you hear, feel free to follow me on SoundCloud where I'll be posting more in this series.
I've included some great music from the likes of: Atjazz, Charles Webster, Yoruba Soul/Osunlade, Jimpster, Fred Everything, Shur-I-Kan, Ripperton, dop, Luvless, Demarkus Lewis, Matt Masters, Leon Revol, Holo, Fort Romeau, and more. I end things off with the classic 2020 Vision mix of "Lovlee Dae" by Blaze into my final track, which was a record that basically lived in my bag since it's release in 2002 - The Lemon8 Deed Dub of Contagious by Kid Vicious. Harry Lemon / Lemon8 was surely a favorite producer of mine through those years when I was much more keen on Progressive House. He had that ability to create those longer, extended tracks that would just build and build over the course of the song, keeping you hooked in the entire time. Although most of his tracks leaned more towards Progressive, I always found this particular one of his to be more deep, dark and groove driven than most traditional Progressive House tracks at that time. It's still a monster of a tune in my personal opinion, and is still a favorite of mine to still play today.

EsuohCast 027 - Alex Caro & Sote De Lino

Country Gents is the moniker of Lee Jones, DJ and producer.
A DJ since 1996, Lee was initially inspired by DiY Soundsystem and ethos in 1990 and ended up DJ’ing all over the UK, Europe and America before starting his own events in Reading and Oxford UK under the name Valley Moods Productions.

He started producing in 1999 and released his debut 12” that same year on Cross Section Records’ sub label Black No Sugar. He has releases on Transfusion, Soiree International, Pear Music, Manuscript Ukraine, 124 Recordings and countless releases on Deep Cartel Recordings. In the early 2000’s he worked tirelessly with Dan Cartel putting on illegal parties all over Devon and South Wales and a multitude of other areas, with festival gigs including Glastonbury, The Glade and Secret Garden Party.
  
Over the years, a number of other producers have worked with Lee as fellow Gents, but currently he is working solo from his Bristol Bus Studio in the wilds of South Oxfordshire. Lee'sbackground is firmly in the Free Party/Rave/Festival scene that dates back to 1989. as mentioned earlier, in 1990, Nottingham sound system DiY erupted into the new culture of spontaneous guerrilla raves that began for that group of travellers and townsfolk alike, which was where it all really began for him.

These are exciting times - he launched a new label called Buslife at the end of 2015. 
In April 2020 the Country Gents Radio Show moved on from 3.5 fantastic years at Release FM and then 2 years on The Underground Sessions Radio. In 2023 with the support of a team of friends Buslife Collective Radio was launched and Lee still plays every Saturday night from 6pm to 8pm GMT
The picture you see in the logo of the label also happens to be his home, hence the name!
