Hailing from South Korea, the mind & body trained on the raves of Seoul, and across the country we have Jesse You. The gifted producer has embodied 3 original cuts which are showcasing a hefty range of electronic sound. Describing it using standard words would be too banal, so would prefer to say it is interstellar, from dark to funk and served at absolutely correct temperature. Because it is important not to melt the vinyl but to melt the gooey part inside the head. Jesse is no stranger to sound production and have proved this with “Tone Select” a disc that requires shoes which can stand the test of time on the dancefloor. 

On the remix duties its Z@P, resident of many prestigious electronic music communities all over the world and one of the hardest working producers of our time. He has applied a deep burner vision on the original track which allows to dissolve in space time continuum given a correct, as well as an incorrect setting. After having recently released on AEON and Roam Recordings, Franz Matthews returns home on his HIFI/LOFI imprint by unveiling his Symmetric Dance EP, showing us once more how the producer likes to play with the codes of House, Space Disco, and Indie Dance by intertwining them and turning them into his very own secret sauce.

The trip starts with the eponymous Symmetric Dance, where a faster-than-usual Franz brings us into the groove with a deep bass line supporting the words of a sort of musical guru, leading you (yes, you.) progressively into the ecstatic moment of the Symmetric Dance, here materialised by a catchy house-y piano part that later exploses into a festival of notes before coming back to an infamous rhythm that we dare you not to dance to. Does it feel like summer ? Yes, probably.

Moving on to Zero Gravity, we step into a fast-paced ride of cosmic synth escapades that take our vehicle on a full throttle run until it has left the launching ramp and floats into mid-air, not really knowing when or where it will land. But, just as you finished catching your breath again, you land back on earth, full speed, and navigate in the middle of another asteroid galaxy tour, taking a few Machs along the way until it is time for the next bump. Will you land back on your feet this time ? Yes, probably.

Closing the cosmic ride, the slower ‘Herbie Crashed The Party’ is a progressive burner constructed around a centre ARP2600 synth line evolving throughout the whole track and being joined by funky guitars, heady synth ornementations, and a stabby brass ensemble that opens up the door to what seems to be the ghost of an unusual guest as the party goes on, which makes us wonder if it was a good idea to let Herbie Hancock in at the party ? And again we will answer : Yes, probably.

The Batfinker Strikes Again (Split Atom RemixerMaster)

The closing track off LKR006 is a spontaneous and colourful rejig of Upper Function by break through Perth (Now Melbourne Based) producer Roza Terenzi. Scattered arpeggios and a bouncy bass line sit between her signature sounding drum's which occasionally switches to the original drum's at moment's. Topped with cruisey pads and conga's it's a lighter take on the original which is hard to picture, but she did it and pulled it off with flair!
