Premiere: DJ Double Oh! - Burst [All Centre]

Facilitating post-pandemic multi-disciplinary symbiosis, Sonia Calico-led SYNERGY FESTIVAL invites rapper SOWUT and UK Dance music producer B E N N let go of old selves and go down the rabbit hole with an unprecedented collaboration track, “ALL RED”.

SYNERGY FESTIVAL, Taiwan’s first large-scale digital art and music festival since the epidemic, forges new bonds between the underground and the mainstream in order to develop a new paradigm within Taiwan’s music scene. Among the eight special projects developed through the Synergy Triangle stages, Rapper SOWUT and producer B E N N might be the furthest apart in style. Even so, the two produced the track “ALL RED”, born from the collaborative spirit of SYNERGY FESTIVAL and respect of rave culture. SOWUT’s label NXWV and the SYNERGY FESTIVAL team were so impressed by the track, rushed to release it separately as a special single. 

SOWUT’s lyrics on “ ALL RED '' ponder the curatorial focus of SYNERGY FESTIVAL, the bridge between “the virtual and the real ''. He takes the red pill, liberating himself from the bonds of reality, following the white rabbit into a realm of infinite possibilities. The producer, B E N N, schooled in the bass subculture in London, extracts the rumble of classic UK Dubstep and imbues it with African-inspired rhythms. The result of their partnership channels the future urbanism of the seminal Hyperdub release of Kode9 & The Spaceape. Though this is SOWUT’s first venture working with such a dark genre of electronic music, he surpasses even his own expectations on '' ALL RED '', opening up new possibilities in the concept of Taiwan Grime. 

“ALL RED” will be released as a single on March 10th, and will be accompanied by a full live audio/visual performance exclusive to SYNERGY FESTIVAL. The Live A/V will be handled by the Digital Art collective XTRUX, who will use the latest game engine technology to build a fully realized world  for “ALL RED” to inhabit. This will be presented on a 9-meter wide LED wall, paired with the world-class Funktion-One sound system. Through this stage, and the other special collaborations, SYNERGY FESTIVALl hopes to transcend beyond a simple rave, art performance, concert, or party. But rather, a new imagining of what an experience can be. This is SYNERGY FESTIVAL.
