Our six week run of weekly SORRYMIXs continues with an incredible closing set from one of our favorite DJs in New York —  Doula (@ddoula).

Recorded live at our last Bossa Nova Civic Club monthly, Doula delivered what I’d consider to be easily one of the best sets we’ve ever had at a Sorry party. Bossa can be a chaotic room and its rare that you see a crowd there as stunned silent and deeply locked as folks were hearing Doula play that night. One of our favorite new DJs in New York, Doula is an incredibly kind person and an absolute killer DJ who we’re super excited to have close out the evening. She’s made appearances at great parties like Rare Frequency Transmissions, tossd, TOWER, Palm Wine, recently played b2b with DJ Voices for Drama Pride, and has a hotly anticipated new resident party called ESSENCE starting soon at the freshly opened Earthly Delights in Ridgewood. Borrowing some words from HYPNOSIS’s event she played because they are too good to not share… “Doula is a Bronx-born, Brooklyn based DJ unbound by genre known for inducing tantric mania through sensual and intricate sonic experiences. She is a mother to her crowd - with her you will receive what you didn’t know you needed.”

We change up the pace for Off The Record 52 with Palestinian/Egyptian DJ & producer Oldyungmayn.
With a multifaceted identity layered through both his productions and performances, influenced from 90's era rave, sharpened sound design, and a wide spectrum of music he fiinds these stylings have taken him to the decks at Amsterdam’s Garage Noord, Herrensauna and a performance at the experimental festival CTM to name a few. For this mix Oldyungmayn digs deep into more leftfield sounds and less so 4/4 club sounds, that being said this mix can find its way to being played at all hours of the night. Driving yet euphoric. We had a very brief chat with the artist about the mix and what he has coming up.

journey through a very soft + sentimental introduction, winding into dubby breakbeats before warming up some 00’s NYC tribal house. the second half of the set unfolds into contemporary club and hits a fever pitch with percussive latin bass & hard drum
