Things that have to happen happen

Just returned back from Burning Man, where we happened to meet these two really nice fellas who turned out to be the fathers of this little cloud. Thanks guys!
Even if we only stayed a few days, Nico Stojan and me had an amazing time with all ups and downs and of course plenty of dust everywhere.
Being in Black Rock City was a perfect reset and somehow seems to become more and more of a new general birthday, meaning that after Burning Man you start into a new year.
This is exactly how I feel. One year has come to an end and a new one is taking over. Also it coincides with the end of the summer up here in the northern hemi.
Now I am very looking forward to go back to the studio and meditate with my machines and cables. I urgently need this time to become a bit more quiet, not yet hibernating, but still creative. This is the reason why there won’t be many shows in the next months. But yet there are some more Acid Sundays to come and of course you always are invited to tune in, turn on and drop out, be it here or on mixcloud or simply on acid. 

Now let’s jump a little back to the beginning of this summer. After a Fusion pause last year it was about time to return and I have to say it was more than a pleasure to play at Seebühne that early Sunday morning, right after Be Svendsen’s amazing set. For some moments even the sun joined for a little dance. And there were so many happy faces to see.
The last 20 minutes are a reminiscence to my set at Splore festival, New Zealand, earlier this year.  I had brought some of my favorite Kiwi music, but ended up in a rush towards the end as they were cutting my set-time. I wanted to to this one more time, properly, without rush. Fusion was the perfect place and moment for it.
You probably might find some tracks that you already know from my others sets, but frankly, I think rather a bit of repetition than not sharing this one at all.
There is one track in particular that I have been playing over and over for the past nine months and I still can not get bored of it. It manifested the day Nana went on to her journey. 
With all my heart, I believe that I was only channelling at the studio that day, because if it really was a track that I had made consciously I would surely have gotten bored after playing it that often ;-)
A lot of people have been asking wether it will be released and when. I am happy to announce: Yes it will be released, almost soon. Even more happy that it will be released on one of my favorite labels, I never dared to ask.
But see, things that have to happen happen.

Debuting on Phantasy in 2018, ‘Sipoor’ by Red Axes was massive. The release received critical acclaim, not to mention heavy support within the club realm from DJs like Call Super, Jennifer Cardini, Ewan Pearson, Fort Romeau, Massimiliano Pagliara, Chloe, and many more.

Highly soughtafter by those who’ve heard Erol Alkan unleash it in recent months, ‘Sound Test’ kickstarts Phantasy Sound’s 2019 - a rolling tool for a dance floor sliding into another dimension, constructed around a dramatic, numeric countdown. A minimal, skeletal build builds (and builds!) throughout to one of the most out-there breakdowns in recent rave-blotted memory, as the Axes slowly but surely rebuild their house to even more outlandish new proportions. Ten, nine, eight, seven...

‘Shabak Shalom’ quickly snatches the record back from outer space and drags it deep into the basement, zoning in on the gritter, strobe-ready sound that defines the duo’s most club-ready work. All of the Axes’ weapons of choice are deployed as unusually as per usual; militant drums, battered electronics, fucked- frequencies, wiry post-punk guitar lines and lovingly drowned traditional instruments blend to create their own special, slightly-menacing interpretation of hi-NRG.

🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯

Last year during the first lockdown, after the first DJ-livestreams got boring pretty quickly, I lost my motivation to make music. There was no crowd around, no more people from our HCIT collective, there were no emotions transported through that little window for chatting. That frustrated me for a little while. So at first, I decided to concentrate at first on my mental well-being and coping with the situation by myself. As we all got accustomed to this new way of living I found back to making music again. In that time I figured out that creating podcasts became my favorite substitute for gigs and parties.

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

I recorded this set at home - where else? ¯\_( • ‿ • )_/¯ - in my WG-bedroom in Erlangen. From time to time I become sad that I don't have real gigs anymore, but lately the thought came into my mind, that I'm not longer sure if I still would be practiced enough to DJ-ing live. Doing podcasts is very different for me. I love being focused on one podcast for hours, days and weeks, sometimes until late at night. I have fun improving it until it becomes exactly the way I want it to be; to cut it here and there, to transform the tracks, to work with four decks and sometimes making transitions, that would never ever work for me in live DJ-ing. That's what I like about doing podcasts. I can take my time, return to it several times. Of course this practice has its own downsides. Like sometimes my obsession for perfection wins the upper hand and maybe wants too much. But let's not speak of the downsides, haha.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

I can only echo the statements that have already been expressed by other artists here on this channel! I wish you out there all the best and that (sub-)culture, nightlife and club owners will survive and persist. For me personally, I wish that we will be able to catch up on our plans for parties and workshops, etc. we made before. And I really wish that our HCIT collective will survive this pandemic, because a lot of our members moved away in the meantime. Depends on how long everything will last. But we'll see. At last I'm looking forward to hugging friends and dancing through the nights together again.

So meine Lieben … hier der letzte Mix aus Uwe’s „We Are At Home“ Reihe. Wie ich die Reihe gestartet hatte … hätte ich nicht gedacht das daraus fast 70 Podcast werden – uff. Aber ich hoffe ich habe euch während der dunkelsten Zeit der Pandemie mit guter und positiver Musik versorgt. 🗯🗯 How Did Corona change your artist life? 🗯🗯

At first, it was scary to receive little by little all the emails from promoters saying "we are very sorry, but we have to postpone", then I understood it was something serious. I quickly got into not smoking, no
drinking, eating healthier and producing every day, that felt great. After 6 months, small parties started to happen in Mexico so I have been able to play since September, of course not every weekend like before the lockdown but still a relief. I also feel that something is changing in the way I perceive the music scene.

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

I recorded it in Departamento Studio Bar, a club in Mexico City where I'm resident from. At first it felt so good to be back but I shortly realized it was only two friends coming but hurt to see the club empty, it was normally packed and sweaty.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

Stop using face masks and to be around people like before the pandemic.
