More Balearic beauty this week is coming from Oslo, Norway and DJ and producer John Clements aka Plastic Fantastic.
Originally formed as a duo with Eirik Wulff-Engh in 2012, Eirik decided to step away from the band in 2020 leaving John to continue Plastic Fantastic as a solo project.

The duo released their first record ‘Here Comes The Sun’ on Our Nights Recordings in November 2014. The digital release featured remixes by Ilya Santana, Beatfanatic and Dynamicron. The response to their debut was favourable with music blog Como Las Grecas offering a particularly warm review. Remix-wise, the Ilya Santana remix did especially well having made it into the Top Ten on the Traxsource Essential Nu Disco/Indie Dance chart within just two weeks from its release.

In early 2015 Aficionado Recordings licensed the Beatfanatic remix of​ 'Here Comes The Sun’ ​for an exclusive vinyl release. The record was released in July 2015. It reached the number two spot on Juno Records' Vinyl Singles chart,​ a​s well as number five in the Balearic/Downtempo chart. It was Bestseller Of The Week and Piccadilly Records’ Genre Pick Of The Week. The record was supported by Coyote (Is It Balearic? Recordings),​ Faze Action and Kenneth Bager (Music For Dreams) among others.

A collaboration with Sally Rodgers from A Man Called Adam in 2017 resulted in ‘Give The Light Back To The Night’. The record was initially released exclusively on 12” vinyl on Andy Pye’s Balearic Social Records label, but has since been licensed for a digital compilation album released on Rune Lindbæk’s Drum Island Records. The 12” release was Piccadilly Records' Genre Pick Of The Week. 

In the summer of 2019, after almost five years in the making, their opus ‘Reflections Of The Sun’ was released on NuNorthern Soul. The EP, which features two longer pieces, was released under the duo’s new Mirage alias. The track ‘Endless Ocean’ from the new EP appeared on the 12" vinyl Summer Selections One, released in May 2019. The record also featured brand new tracks from Nick J Smith and Bonnie & Klein.
He is currently launching his bi-monthly series called The Sunrise Session, in cooperation with Chris Coco of The Chillout Tent.
