The entire booming EP is a 4 on 4 mix of powerful grooves, arpeggiators, atmospheres and heavy stabs.

Pig&Dan signal their first solo outing on Drumcode since 2016, with a stirring four-track work.

The duo stands as one of electronic music’s most prolific artists, shapeshifting between different shades of house and techno over a 15+ year period, all the while displaying a startling breadth that’s ensured their enduring demand. Their relationship with Adam Beyer has solidified over the years, first impressing with a debut EP ‘Mexico’ in 2016, before collaborating with the Swede himself in 2017 for the fantastic four-tracker ‘Capsule’, a notable highlight. With their contribution to last year’s A-Sides compilation ‘La Bruja’ one of the strongest of the bunch, their return for a full-length EP is timely. 

Title track ‘Infinity’ is rave-infused stadium techno crafted to perfection, driven by an undulating melodic lead that builds to a tension-packed break, before the chords re-appear and propel the track toward a trippy finale. Vocal cut ‘Losing Part of Me’ is momentous, with punchy bass and pin-sharp percussion juxtaposing superbly with the emotive vocal and laser-kissed melodic touches. ‘Terrax’ is propelled by woozy synth leads that escalate in intensity, before unexpectedly dropping into a series of soothing synth interludes, before slamming back in with purpose. The EP concludes with ‘Plex’, as a brooding melody line is paired with pumping percussion for an atmosphere-heavy finale.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse.

Techno phenomenon Amelie Lens is gear up to deliver 'Hypnotized' - another masterful EP filled with peak-time weapons set to land on June 28 via Second State.

Ahead of the three-tracker's release, Lens has handed over rising Belgian duo Joyhauser's remix of the title track. A gabber-inflected tune with an anthemic rave feel to it, Joyhausers relentless rework is beefed up with iron-pumping apexes that will send shockwaves through any dark warehouse it may find itself in.

Premiere: Amelie Lens 'Hypnotized' (Joyhauser Remix)

Longtime @made-of-concrete family member Toni Dextor returns to the label with three original tracks and enlists Italian producer and DJ Roberto Clementi for his pick on the remix.

Aptly defined as “the process by which organic matter exposed to minerals over a long period is turned to a stony substance”, the title track 'Petrification' stays true to its name. Relentless metallic synths, a punching bassline and inviting vocals turn the track into a solid anthem. Using similar ingredients, but with an entirely new recipe, 'Demand' is a mesmerizing piece whose acidic bass feels beamed from a distant universe, drenching the floor in an eerie light. In comparison with the intensity and changes of the previous tracks, 'Bad Gateway' takes on a steady and constant approach. Profound pads create a layer of mystery, while delivering relentless energy. Roberto Clementi envisions 'Petrification' with a newfound energy, amping up the impact with a punchy resolution.
