Last year whilst I visited my daughter in France before Christmas, she surprised me with this gift of a "Séance de Shiatsu"....the lady who treated me, knew I write music, and she asked me if I could hear anything....
This is what I could hear......

This piano solo piece begins in a minor key, exuding an initially soothing aura that belies the depth of its reflective nature. It carries the listener through a journey of introspection, pondering an unshakeable thought that lingers persistently. Though it initially evokes a sense of resignation or defeat, it gradually reveals itself as a catalyst for deeper contemplation. As the piece progresses, a subtle shift occurs, leading to a transition into a major key. This shift symbolizes a pivotal moment in the introspective process, as the protagonist of the music discovers a resolution or insight amidst their contemplation. Ultimately, the piece concludes with a sense of upliftment and clarity, suggesting that through introspection and thoughtful consideration, solutions can be found even in the face of persistent challenges

Pan was a lascivious Satyr of the mountains and the God of the Shepherds and the Flocks. His main task was to render the flocks fertile.
Of course, this mythical character relates to a fragment of the human psyche, which if given free rein...often shepherds those under "his" spell through the garden of delights, leaving them to repent at their leisure.

Here is also an attempt a composition in the Dorian Mode.
I don't really know if I even got close.
It was my best guess.

You may notice that the underlying rhythm is 8/8,
while the overlaid melodies are 3/4.

A real pleasure to be part of the 2020 Unconformity Festival based in Queenstown Tasmania This year Dani and I, along with 8 artists from around the globe were asked to re-score an old Sci-Fi movie as part of Unconformity's UNTV live night. Naturally enough all activities were via the Internet this year and the show was broadcast on October 17th 2020 There is almost no info about the 1926 film Dani and I were given other than the year it was made. I cant even find any info on the production company etc... If you would like to see the film I have it here on Vimeo. When I write music, I try to go on a journey to feel emotions, whatever they may be.  To me, music is a celebration of life; for all the pain and suffering we may endure, it is a gift to be alive.
