These five pieces were cut from a performance at Cashmere Radio’s summer party. 

The musical material and textual material is sampled or field recorded, and during the performance used intuitively doch intentionally to form a narrative over time. The performance is dedicated to anyone who has to work so hard to claim their personhood and place in this world. That kind of stuff is really around me and on my mind. I think that angels don’t have passports and rental agreements don’t have gods. All of them are fiction but you are realness. Please, don’t give up. Waiting may equal defeat. Let us work for miracles, because miracles really happen, you know.

The 44th release of katharsis is the debut album “Late Bloomer” by the malmö-based entity Starleaf. A whisper caught between interstellar winds, a tale of a cosmic protagonist - something growing, something distant and near at once. The album manifests the ethereal spirit of Starleaf with deep rhythmic pulses of bass sprouting from the deep, strong melodic forces of trancey synths and hard-hitting space-warping percussion.

Starleaf is an organism thriving on the edge of the comprehensible, drawing from energies that defy the natural laws we claim to know. In its branches, rhythms weave, harmonic growth pulses, and textures bloom from the nexus of the organic and the alien. Its origins are a paradox of seed and starlight, where sound becomes a tendril, twisting through Malmö’s underground and far beyond.

For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.

Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. We still sell arms to Israel, both directly and indirectly, whilst also supporting its military with intelligence and training - the latter shockingly taking place on British shores.

Let’s be clear. Any minor concessions, like recognising the State of Palestine earlier in September, would not have taken place without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign. And as public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow, continued campaigning remains vitally important.

Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, containing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.
