Chuck Philips is an investigative reporter and writer whose work explores the intersection of art, entertainment and crime.  Philips has written for the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Rolling Stone, Spin, Village Voice, Source, Allhiphop.com and others.  Philips won the Pulitzer Prize (with his colleague Michael Hiltzik) for beat reporting in 1999 for a series examining corruption in the music industry.  Philips won the George Polk Award in 1996 for his work on black art and culture in America and a National Association of Black Journalists Award in 1997 for his coverage of the rap music business.
