What happens when two big, creative minds decide to join forces? The result can only be magnificent! So fasten your seatbelts, because this ride is about to go wild. The immensely talented artist Kolombo who is considered one of the true, great innovators in the electronic music and the mastermind behind Otherwise Records has teamed up with SNOE boss and genre bending producer Andreas Henneberg. They already gained massive appreciation for their first collab track “Set In To A Trance” that skyrocketed into the hearts of fans and followers all across the globe, and now they have done it again. 

Their new track “Crazy Skills” is a once in a decade kind of track. With minimal yet highly effective tools they have created a unique tune that draws on the influences of the early rave days but in an innovative way dedicated to euphoric and sweaty club nights. The mood is slightly dark with massive and gritty snares and playful synths. It accumulates power throughout the track escalated by a dirty vocal that just sticks with you. A heavy bassline hits you right in the gut, this is a track that makes you want to dance and shout and sweat and let go of everything around you. A true masterpiece that you won’t forget any time soon.

Whats left to say about Steve Bug, the house and techno legend who’s influence has left huge fingerprints on the German underground dance scene, not least from his groundbreaking label, Poker Flat or how it shaped ‘00s minimal house; his releases on every seminal label you can think of from Bedrock to Ovum via Cocoon and Defected; his creativity and dedication to his art with 5 solo LPs and 2 collaboration LPs, the latest of which Mixmag described as “elegantly euphoric”; his incredible live sets or his continued love for the music. Honestly, what else can we say? He’s the artist we all want to be when we grow up! Opening with ‘Quando Bailas Asi’ warm lows and choppy stabs are as inviting as visiting your favourite nan for supper. Spoken word lyrics add to the ambience and latin flavor that grooves effortlessly throughout. Relative newcomer, Cristina broke into the scene in 2016 and quickly established herself with releases on TBX, Bondage-Music and Rebellion. Constructing a chunkier tech groove with splashes of balearic guitar, Cristina’s remix captures the originals charm to perfection. Finally, ‘Trees & Clouds’ sees Steve dabbling with delicate Detroitian vibes. Deeply sparse and utterly hypnotising, he recreates the very essence of those early pioneering grooves, expertly bringing them up to date for the modern floors.

Long-time friend and resident Arthur Johnson is finally back on La dame Noir with a brilliant four tracker that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this label’s club nights in Marseille and includes a superb remix by Colossio & Mufti.
This new music reveals once again how good Belgian born Jonhson is at crafting adventurous club music. He’s proven himself before on Les Disques De la Mort as well as La Dame Noir and counts Tiga, Chloe and Ivan Smagghe as fans, which shows you how real and rugged his sounds are.
‘Rrheatr’ is a brilliantly shadowy groove with filtered vocals swirling about above an edgy groove.

This is my new monthly mix show/podcast, a 2 hr journey thru upfront and classic techno, house and machine funk with cuts from Ben Klock, Robert Hood, Mark Broom, Sandwell District, Kink, Tyree Cooper and plenty more (a full tracklisting will follow asap).

I'm hoping to get the show syndicated as much as possible, at present House FM in London will be adding it to their timetable, as will a soft porn TV channel in Slovenia (that's one for the C.V) but i'm definitely looking for more, so if you are a radio station (web or FM) please get in touch.

The show is mixed using the 'Bridge', the program that links Serato and Ableton, which is something i'm having fun experimenting with right now, at the moment just in the studio but i'll be giving it a go at the machine launch party in London on Feb 25th (www.machinelondon.com)
