Electronic pioneer, Christopher Just’s initial music came out in 1993 under his own name and various pseudonyms, like “DJ One finger” and “ilsa Gold”. The “Petra” project was originally released in 1996 showcasing the ferocious sound of 90’s analog hardware. Over 25 years later Dax J presents his colossal remix of the relativity unknown and now unearthed gem that went under the radar for so many years. Monnom Black will mark its 17th release with its first various artist compilation presented on triple vinyl. Keeping with the label’s modus operandi, the compilation is packed with iconic, raw and uncompromising techno, featuring 13 artists new and old to the imprint, including a re-release of a classic Drax aka Thomas P. Heckmann track from 1993.

To coincide with the launch of the compilation, Monnom Black will hold its first highly-anticipated label party. Locking arms with the notorious underground Dutch promoters Reaktor, known for their challenging events and pushing the boundaries of what techno has to offer. Together they will celebrate with an electronic onslaught on New Year’s Eve in Amsterdam’s Elementstraat Warehouse. A location cut to the bone that perfectly encapsulates the label and promoters combined vision and ethos.

Dax J curates the night fusing the label together for a special moment in time, with the titan warehouse opening up two of its rooms hosting a monster line up with the likes of CJ Bolland, Regis as CUB, Thomas P. Heckmann, I Hate Models, UVB, Stranger, Zanias, Cressida, Inhalt Der Nacht, Raffaele Attanasio, Tommy Holohan and Remco Beekwilder.

Repitch Recordings welcomes VTSS (@vitiosus) to its ranks. The Polish DJ and producer (real name Martyna Maja) being a proud alumn of Warsaw’s Brutaz clubnight and Jasna1 club (as well as one of Discwoman’s most recent acquisitions), it is no wonder her style overflows with dark energy and tenacious ravey vibes. Her Repitch debut channels this same ardor into four heavy-hitting bangers that serve as sonic power conductors and ecstatic stamina enhancers. The industrialized pounding of her drum sounds is always accompanied by a taste for reimagining the classic vestiges of techno, rave and even hardcore: from hoover sounds and sampled vocal refrains to classic Berlin- style staccato synth pulses. Her approach is though far from just piling a set of tokenized references, and the raw urgency that fuels her creative energy keeps her production as fresh as her behind-the-decks manifestations.

Since 2014 Greek artist Endlec has quickly become one of the mainstays within the sonic field
of industrially raw, driving techno with previous releases on Analogue, KR/LF Records and Bas Mooy’s label Mord. Having performed at the likes of Tresor and REX Club, along with taking influences from early 90s European techno and Detroit’s pioneers, Endlec now lands his next release on Barcelona based imprint HEX Recordings showcasing his fierce, tough techno sound.
‘Use For Punishment’ opens with spacey stabs, echoing chimes, driving kicks and crunchy snares until ‘Class Of 89’’ doubles up the percussion for a dark throbbing effect along with rushing rides, descending synths and rhythmic vocal hits. ‘Concrete Destroyer’ then thunders with a moody sound floor, cutting hi- hats and firing risers before ‘Rage Taster’ and ‘Who Ya Gonna Kill’ close proceedings with rattling, syncopated cymbals, haunting voices, thumping bass and electronically charging energy.
