Rift Valley is the follow up from the 2016 instrumental LP "Nocturnes" by The Summit, aka DJ Drinks, aka, one half of North London outfit Armed Dukes.

An all instrumental affair, Rift Valley is full of distilled breaks and thick layered courtesy of the 1990s-era Emu Systems samplers.  Recorded and mixed throughout 2016, meticulously laid back to BASF 468 Master tape on a Revox B77.

kick a dope verse! one year anniversary mix [mixed by abstractjity]

New year, new beginnings and as always; new music! We don’t like to rush into things so we thought it would be nice to start it off smoothly for our first episode of the year. To set the mode, we have invited British beatmaker Crimson to put on some of his warmth to our ears with a fine selection of heater-boombap instrumentals. Beside his ability to make dope selections, he has been putting out beat-tapes under his own name for a while and just recently released a full-length LP titled ”Descent” in conjunction with https://soundcloud.com/ibmcs.  The sounds are inspired by the lineage of '90s hip hop, late 20th century jazz and traditional world music influences, which are the hallmark of Crimson’s sound. It also reflects the sense of melancholy felt throughout these instrumental soundscapes. In a lovely way, Crimson manages to integrate these inspirations properly in this laid-back & bumpin’ 20 minute ride, making it a perfect way to start and/or end the day with, and includes tracks from the likes of Figub Brazlevic, 12 Vince, Parental, Loop.Holes, Liphe amongst other cats in the beat-scene.
