Injection Box returns with a rare transmission from Greg Beato (@oteab_gerg), the elusive Miami-based producer and DJ behind a decade’s worth of raw, left-of-center club tools. Known for releases on revered imprints like @l-i-e-s and @apronrecords, Beato resurfaces with his first official set since his mix for @dkmntl in 2016.

He last played for us in 2019, joining a bill that included live sets from Ectomorph and Ultradyne. Now, he delivers a characteristically unfiltered ride. Fractured rhythms, analog grit, and machine workouts collide from a voice rooted deep in the raw, no-frills heart of the scene.

This one’s tense, hypnotic, and unmistakably banging.

Flying through funk, soul, psychedelia, and enchanting soundtracks, Adam Wiltzie commemorates the 30th anniversary of Stars of the Lid’s debut Music for Nitrous Oxide with a mix mirroring the album’s spaciousness and throbbing rawness. The lurching guitars of Wiltzie’s Windsor For The Derby band pace out a textural abyss, allowing for the hushed, gentle twitches of Loscil’s ‘Sticky’ to slowly expand as frost growing on a windowpane, and the fluid melismatic bansuri of Hariprasaf Chaurasia to unravel throughout much of the mix. Smooth organ glides and lush harmonies later lead to a convergence of dextrous, emotive guitar plucks on vAntonio Pinto**’s cinematically swelling ‘Maradona Childhood’.

“It was great fun while it lasted but unfortunately it only lasted a short time. I am appreciative that after all these decades we can return & acknowledge this time capsule from my past & for the mix i suppose If a song is worth anything, its about the life of the listener....”

A lot has happened since our last pre-pandemic episode. While streaming DJ sets may have lost some momentum, we believe there's still a space for timeless, distinctive mixes from artists we respect — whether they're long-time players or emerging talents from our circle. So now feels like the right time to relaunch the Pomcast.

Kicking things off is our dear colleague and friend, Chicago’s own m50.

For those familiar, m50 is synonymous with high-quality, deeply personal, and immersive electronic sets. His work through the weekly "etc radio" broadcasts, his productions as Area (his debut album dropped on François K’s Wave Music in 2012), and his vinyl-only label Kimochi all showcase a unique and nuanced musical voice.

For the 30th Herbarium we are proud to present two special guests - @bambi__dj and @beatricem._bait. They brought a trippy dubby journey to the table, loaded with unique sound design and spacious grooves. We love the feeling when every detail sits in the right place as in their selection of tracks and elements. This creates an insanely immersive effect and hunger for more. Bambi and Beatrice M. chose the plant Mint (mentha) for their mix. 🌿

Here’s some insight about why they chose their plant: 
Bambi and Beatrice M.’s musical palettes intersect in a very specific zone, with some key words like psychedelia and dub. This can apply to the club interface, but as the summer surfs by, their need for freshness and a soothing soundtrack for the season translates in this mix’s selections. Therefore the choice of plant felt pretty intuitive : mint. A plant that stimulates several senses at once : its vivid green evokes lushness and renewal, its scent is sharp, almost cleansing, and its taste - cool, tingling, slightly sweet - lingers like an echo… Just like their selections, mint stands at a sensory crossroads - refreshing the body, teasing the mind, and awakening something just beneath the surface. 𖧧

About Bambi & Beatrice M.

Beatrice M. and Bambi are two french DJs who met through intersecting music circles, which is what their duo is all about. Take a venn diagram with on one side, Bambi’s library ranging from deep techno to trance to house to triphop, and on the other side Beatrice M. with mainly dub and dubstep. The crossing point of the two circles is always somewhat a little dubby, a little psychedelic, sprinkled with friendship and fun.
