I was asked to open up Astronox this year, Sunday at Noon 10/23/22 for the afternoon Psytrance block of the festival. I had only a week to prepare this set while traveling in Texas (due to other DJ dropping out), and being a Downtempo festival, I wanted to open up slower than straight Psytrance. So Psybreaks seemed a great choice! One of my favorite genres other than Psytrance, and it was a prime opportunity to mix some of my favorite Psybreaks tracks for the first time on a main stage.

Twilight Psytrance (Night Full-On) Set For Unholy Hoedown 2023

We brought the "Psyball" stage out to the Colorado Rocky Mountains woods for round 2 at Hot Nonsense Festival again this year. 2 nights of Psytrance all night with mixed genres during the day. The flow was on point and the dancefloor was on fire with twice as many people as last year and a huge psychedelic canopy.

This set was performed at midnight 12am on 8/13/23 so I'm calling it "Midnight Morning Psytrance" - my favorite kind of melodic Full-On. Now people can't say you can't play Morning Psy at night! It's the AM!

Midnight Morning Psytrance At Hot Nonsense Festival 3

For Astronox this year I decided I wanted to do an Epic Cinematic / Symphonic Psytrance set since Juno Reactor was booked to do a Cinematic Psy set as well. Though he unfortunately was not able to make it due to a work visa delay.

I also wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something I've never done before: mix some non-Psytrance tracks over Psytrance bass. I was pretty pleased with how well these meshed, despite being completely different genres!

Epic Psymphony At Astronox 2023

The first mix I ever uploaded on Soundcloud was from Freezerburn 2020, so now I've come full circle with this latest mix 5 years later. This is also my first 90 minute mix, which is fitting.

Our Austin TX friends did it again, hosting an amazing sound camp called Dry Ice. And true to the name, Freezerburn was freezing the whole time we were camping out there, ending with a climatic effigy burn. Dry Ice had a heated dome though, so we were nice and cozy dancing the weekend away :)

This set also evolved through several events, starting with Adriana's Bday party in Austin TX at 60 minutes, and then Ascension's New Year's Eve Psytrance party in Denver CO where he asked me to play 90 minutes. And finally at FreezerBurn this mix has reached its full power. Hope you enjoy!

Freezerburn 2020 Melodic Progressive Psytrance DJ Set [FREE DL]

Our ancient race hails from a distant galaxy, not unlike your own. We have mastered the art of interstellar travel, extending our reach into the furthest corners of space. Seeding one star after another, our journey pressed on, fueled by a lust for adventure, and a need for knowledge. And yet despite how far we've come, we are still limited to the confines of the physical universe. We cannot achieve faster-than-light travel. Because of this, we are isolated from our brothers and sisters we've left behind. Space is vast, and we would not make the trip back within our lifetimes. And so our stalwart fleet presses on, further into the deep unknown of space. 

This is our story, told through the audio vibrations of what our culture calls "Psytrance." It begins with a synopsis of our people, and soon becomes Progressive. After Progressing, we reach Full-On vibrational power, fueling our spaceship into maximum overdrive, until finally we burst into the Twilight realms we now currently inhabit. We hope you enjoy the ride, and we'll see you on the other side friend.

A Story Of Space Exploration (Psytrance DJ Set) [120-147BPM]

Music is the heartbeat of the soul.

Colin AKA Craeter has been in the Psytrance community since 2015. While living in Lubbock, TX, he discovered his love for Psytrance when his friends took him out to Dallas for his first Atrium Obscurum event.

Since there was *almost* no Psytrance in west TX, he decided he would learn to mix and help share this unknown sound with his fellow Panhandle people. Under the tutelage of the most underground of warehouse dwellers, The Balance, and his trusty friend Frosty Panda, he learned how to hone his love for this music even further through DJing. 

Craeter moved to Colorado in June of 2020 and has since been an integral part in the local Psytrance community. He has both created and played at numerous gatherings alongside his partner Violet Psyflower. With help from Gigantic Co, he crafted a full blown main stage for Hot Nonsense Festival, the only mountain Psytrance festival in Colorado summer of 2022.

With high hopes for the continuation of a flourishing psytrance community in Colorado, he continues his journey into sound. Won't you come along for the ride?
