"Find another love" is a song I found via Prince, who borrowed it from Alice Smith, an American artist I had never heard of. I love the song and had strummed it enough in the bedroom to want to record my own version. Rest in peace.
"Boys in pain" is describing someone who was told to not deal with his emotions and instead stuff them down inside. Eventually emotions boil up with negative outcomes predicted. It's a folk song.
"City blues" is a rocker about life expectations and having to adjust those expectations. Ultimately changing your view of reality.
"Don't give a fuck" is a folk song about generation gaps, not caring what other people think, and breaking thru the fear of life.
"Step back" is inspired vibe wise by Gary Clark Jnr, my current favourite guitarist. It's the most guitar song on the album for me. The song is about allowing yourself to get off the wheel and out of the rat race to recharge the batteries.
"Going to the shop" is dance rock. It's about going to the shop.
"Faslet" and "Happy I promise" are psychedelic instrumentals possibly inspired by Can (German Krautrock group).

The songs are original and quite often come with a folk pop heart, but electronic and rock influences are common. 

Lyrically songs are varied - love is central to life, so that comes up, but the human psych gets a big nod, and there's analysis of the world at large.
