Day 2 of the #21daysofvgm challenge!  A shorter one today, but which took equally as long to make - a 'game over' theme! Feedback welcomed.

Day 3 of the #21daysofVGM April 2019 challenge! Was originally going for an escape theme for a sewer type of level, but it turned out a bit more spacey/sci fi then planned.  I wanted to have squelchy sounds, metallic hits, a driving bass and drums to create a sense of panic and stress, and I think I achieved that.  I also wanted to experiment with drum loops and samples, which I have never really used before.  Heavily influenced by the work of Darren Korb from his soundtracks to Supergiant games such as Bastion and Transistor.

VGM Day 3 - Escape from the sewer!

Day 4 of the #21daysofVGM April 2019 challenge.  A bit of RPG piano music for today - I see it playing alongside you discovering the villains troubled past, showing the player that things aren't as simple as black and white.  A bit Skies of Arcadia inspired!  I wanted to record the piano live, but in my sleepiness I kept playing it wrong... so I opted for midi instead!

Day 5 of the #21daysofVGM April 2019 challenge! A quick guitar piece I recorded on a Fostex multitracker that I haven't used in years.  I had friends over tonight so only had time to do something quick after they had gone, but I'm actually pretty happy with some of the ideas in this.  I imagine it accompanying the player as they travel across the world.

Graveyard ghost hunt

As you navigate the ruins of the old kingdom, you discover a skeleton dressed in sun-faded, ceremonial garb.  Next to the skeleton's body lies a note - "We built them and made them our slaves, but we are no longer their masters".  The earth on which the corpse lies still bears the scorch marks of a mech's deadly fire blaster.  "Oh how little you knew..." you think to yourself.  Suddenly you become aware of smoke rising from the ground and the rancid, acid smell hits you in the back of the throat, making you choke.  The engine noises start and the building starts to shake.  You are no longer alon - time to leave before they find you.
