Fly By Night are excited to announce our first release of 2021, a 4-track fusion of breaks and techno from Manchester-based Porchcrawler. Porchcrawler, who's Dad is a member of legendary Manchester group 808 State, has been developing his sound over the last few years, drawing influences from darker electro & breaks alongside relentless warehouse techno. The opening track, The Bailiff, starts off the EP as it means to go on with a roaring bass alongside stabby synths featuring heavy influence from the recent releases of Mall Grab. Oxycodone follows this up with a slower building track that culminates in an outrageous finish with a pulsating acid line to compliment the slamming breaks throughout. On the second half of the EP, Pistol Shrimp starts the push towards the warehouse techno influences. Wrapping up the release is the title-track Blunt Trauma, which features pounding kicks and a roaring foghorn bass. This track in particular was pulled together as an attempt to manifest the chaotic experience Harvey experienced in late 2019, where he suffered a major brain injury.
