Conoley Ospovat delivers again with another missive on his mostly solo platform, Continental Drift. With supporters like Move D, Daniel Bell, Snad, Gavin Hardkiss, & DJ 1985, he always seems to find himself in the record bag of underground tastemakers & adventurous selectors. On the Tokyo Techno Girl 12" he continues to refine his sound - ranging from the B-side dusty dub roller Culture Lag to the playful shimmer of the lead tune: Stars. In between, the wistful title track is a shuffling ode to a faithful furry studio companion. Then classical house roots shine through on Jam bij de Vrij Paleis, catapulting a buoyant bassline groove to the fore with a deep spirit sure to grab fans of Smallville or Giegling. Flip The Lid is a label prone to movement. Originally started in London as a radio show, before then making its way to Aotearoa/New Zealand, and now finally settling in Boorloo/Perth, the label has seen a series of moves and influences that have stuck with it to this day. 'Rolly Bump Vol 2', its second compilation, is a merging of all of those geographic influences, with contributions from Ireland, Japan, across Europe and Australia.

'Twerp', the work of Boorloo-based producer Aphid, is a nod to deep, dark and hypnotic dancefloors. The producer, who cites the likes of Unai Trotti, Smagghe, Ciel and XDB as influences, has shared a track versatile enough for the club or big outdoor systems. "Layers of broken percussion, tweaked-out acid & a healthy dose of 40hz keeps this one skipping along," the label shared.

Since 2012 Wilson Records have been putting out some of the best house records going from the likes of Gene Hunt, Steve Murphy & Fabio himself. Along with having one of the most recognizable logos in dance music the label has stayed true to it's sound putting out New York Inspired house with a twist. Fabio has also released on Russian Torrent Versions, Creme Organization & Skylax amongst others. 

Fabio's other alias, "Hissman" shows the darker side of his production with tough italo, acid & electro jams and with releases on labels Hardmoon & DABJ we look forward to hearing what he has coming out this year ;)

With a long spanning career under his belt, it's refreshing that Point G still manages to keep it fresh, this basis, mixed with the delicate rework and innovation of Leo Pol means that 'Nebula' is a tune of otherworldly delights.

The tune's a slap up treat for those who love the classic house sound, with soaring keys, conversational drums and a fidgety, refusing to sit still synth keeping it rolling. Expect the bassline to morph throughout the different forms of the song yet remain reassuringly similar; change is good sometimes, but we always need it to be incremental to remain palatable.
