You're an island on a stormy sea (demo)

I want to rage at the sky, with its stars above the sea.
I'm getting sick and tired of them raging at me.

I was once was happy, in a home with a sweet family.
Now I'm lost inside that memory.

I don't worry myself too much about it, like they always say - everyone has troubles, not just me.

In comes the change hand in hand with all its strangeness. 
I just want to feel something real.

Simon's in his garden with a broken heart, watering the flowers when it's after dark. A trace of desperation is in the air.

In the house the scene looks like a bomb has struck. In his eyes it's telling that he's given up. It's clear that he needs somebody near.

The drink is a problem but that's just the scars. Deep rooted is a sense his existence is marred. By failures not his own, but a father who didn't play the part.

Round and again like a spinning top. Close to the edge and he just might drop. The only whirlwind I'd miss if ever it should stop.

Sleep this one off, don't cause yourself anymore pain. Morning brings promise of starting again. It's alright, my friend. Because I see a strange light shining in.

I awoke with a pain in my chest,
to a justified sadness I'll attest.
I've sank 'neath the waves, yet again,
when once I rode on their crest.

How should I deal with the pain?
Buy a bag of gear? Or I could meditate.
Give me a quick fix now, I'm impatient.
I don't want to wait.

When I look inside,
There's something that I can't deny.
I'm quite partial to a reckless night,
So if you've got the goods, then brother,
I've got the time.

I'm in some dive bar at the bottom of Leith
On a Monday day time around quarter to three.
I'm carving a trail of destruction
in the landscape of me

Nothing to lose is the attitude
on a turbulent path powered by substance abuse.
At least I will die having tried 
to put the world to rights.


I've had my fun, the hour is late.
After a four day bender I am desolate.
And the questions I needed to ask
still hang in the air.

How many times will we say goodbye?
How many times will you take that flight?
How many times must I walk from your door
with tears in my eyes?
