Bourbonese Qualk - Lies

This record named after its catalog number (Qubism "2294") is one hell of an Ambient/World album. Recorded by two british artists it's been issued in 1994 on Em:t and is in my opinion one of the label's finest gems.
Please do not be fooled: if this brilliant Ambient Techno tune full of a deep & dreamy World atmosphere is without a doubt one of Qubism 2294's highlights along with Ghost of Catalonia (the album's true (Ambient) masterpiece) it is also the only real close-to-upbeat track of the album.

The record is a long time sold out one. If you manage to find it for a decent price I guess you can consider yourself as a (very) lucky bastard.

80s Synth music gem!
Modern living is the opening track of Experimental Products' first album. The record was released only a few months after the two-members band actually took life in Philadelphia.
Experimental Products isn't anything but synths, drum machine, minimalistic 80s pop melodies and more synths. Pretty much everything one could hate BUT... well give it a try and you will understand.

Cunningham tune the first thought that might come to your mind is: "Wait... does this guy give a funking damn about the sounds he is making?". And you would be right. His music is strange, really strange, on this first LP.Actress does look like he not really aware of what he is doing or like all of this only was pure fun. And maybe it is but hey... can you feel these weird yet sweet hot vibes slowly growing on you? Pure talent.

Bowery Electric - Deep sky objects

All along its short history, the first shoegaze wave has allways been a story of noisy organized mess &amp; dreamy soundscapes. But when G.B.'s Flying Saucer Attack issued this record in 1993, they definitely pushed the whole genre one step further making of this s/t one ofthe ultimate shoegaze records in my (very) own opinion.

The resultsof the band's very lo-fi production sounds really great on their unique mix of 80's British Noise Pop, 60's Psychedelic pop roots, Space Rock, and early 90's way of building monolithic yet sweet walls of sound.

Think about My Bloody Valentine meeting Loop on the same record, with an even harsher sound, some tribal moments and a few Drones.

Flying Saucer Attack - A silent tide

Ride is without any doubt one of most influential bands the shoegazer movement ever witnessed and "Nowhere" is an absolute classic blablabla... You may already know all of this.

I do enjoy Ride's records but I had allways been thinking they lacked of a bit of something to be trully awesome from the very first time I heared one of these. This little something is what going live enabled them to unleash: overwhelming guitar walls and powerfull rythm section.

(This song was recorded during a live at Brixton Academy in 1992 and appears with three other ones on a bonus EP issued in 1994 coming along with one of the band's records I can't remember the name)

Emotional Hardcore at it's best.


Knotwork - Distance

I feel a bit lazy right now so I did not want right anything special for this one. Which is a complete nonsense  when you hear how unusual this record is.
You probably already know what the man is capable of from his work with Eyeless in Gaza and if you do not then maybe you should give it a listen. Bates' works really deserve it.

To make it short, think Within-The-Realm-Of-A-Dying-Sun-era Dead Can Dance meeting later Talk Talk or what actual Ulver could have sounded like in 1988.

Then think that as Mystery Seas (Letter Written #2) went out in 1995. So how strange is that?
