The sound system was initially started to host illegal raves in the NE UK which has now grown into a reputable festival and events sound system brand. Along that journey Stephen and the Cranked Sounds crew have met and hosted a variety of underground performers and producers. The Cranked Records label launch Ignition E.P showcases a collaboration of broken beats from friends and family met along the sound system journey, encompassing the essence of our sound system community. Stephen’s aim is to harness the sound of the UK and European sound system culture and apply it to releasing music alongside promotional events.  Cranked Records first album release “Ignition” will be showcased at this year Boomtown festival, Baltar festival and Kidstock festival.

OmniRhythm - Jungle Music

Liam (AKA L3mmy Dubz) is a music producer from the North East of England primarily producing dubstep and drum n bass. Lemmys music endeavours over his 14 years of making music have always leaned to the heavier side of drum n bass and dubstep with crushing baselines, extra terrestrial sound design and horror scapes that surely sweep a dance floor with dread and excitement. 
Oxymoron (the tune in this VA) is a combination of footwork, jungle with bouncing square waves to accompany the broken drums that morph and change throughout the carnage of the tune which is a fantastic combination of flavours for Cranked Sounds slamming VA

L3MMY DUBZ - OXYMORON

Kodiak is a long time friend to the Cranked family, and is very excited for his first release with the label. Embedded into the Northern rave scene, Kodiak has provided the sonics for many a free party, club event and festival, through mixing and MCing over the years.

-William Wood AKA Ironic Thug hails from the North East of England. Representing Cranked Sounds, Ironic Thug is pushing the more energetic darker sound of Dubstep and broken beats in his own unique interpretation. Sleazy is a half time drum and bass tune derived from my love of murky dance tracks that make you skank with your eyes down to the floor.

For his first distributed dnb track crank has applied his love for underground low down and dirty dnb while trying to elaborate on the conventional modern dnb sounds of today. Using techniques and skills he gained while producing Tekno and Makina Crank. Encompassing the industrial environment of his home town crank has put his soul into showcasing his talent for Cranked Records First release.

Badmandicoot has become a veteran of the Northern sound system culture, playing at a variety of events with Cranked Sound system over the past 10 years.  Parallel is a track that takes away from the typical 2 and 4 dnb snare pattern. It is inspired by the harder more syncopated breaks from tracks badmandicoot loves such as Glock party by Evol Intent or intelligent suicide by bur oak, including a more industrial dystopian sound that made Badmandicoot fall in love with dark dnb in the first place. Over all i really enjoyed making the big delayed stabs and working with the noise sub to make all the pitch bendy wobbly sub shenanigans in phase 2 of the drop and hope you guys enjoy the moody stomping vibes on the track.
