Projekt 1 lautet: ‚Fünf Sterne deluxe - Die Remixe - Electronic Edition’. Was? Wer hätte das gedacht? 'Dein Herz schlägt schneller’ im Remix von Oliver Koletzki (Stil von Talent, Universal) oder als internationale Adaption von Malente (No Brainer) im ‚My Heart Beats Faster’ Remix. ‚Die Leude’ wird hier mal fein von Lexy & K-Paul und Ante Perry (Katermukke, Kittball) aufgemischt serviert. Justus Köhnke (Kompakt) offenbart seine ‚Magie’ und als classic Remix ist die DJ Koze Version von ‚Happy Hip Hop’ aus dem Jahr 1998 als reminiszierender Leckerbissen mit auf der Scheibe vertreten. Brazed (Audiolith), Tagteam Terror (Moonbootique), Marc Deal und Apollo Lovemachine runden das elektronische Paket mit ihren Interpretationen von ‚Nirvana’ bis ‚Sowieso’ stilsicher ab.

The EP "Trapped in Time", released by the Berlin label WHATIPLAY is the first result of a cooperation between Marian Herzog and Modshape. Berlin-based like Marian Herzog, the DJ duo produces deep techno. The collaboration however, is a mix of powerful technobeats and playful melodies. The orginals "Trapped in Time" and "Keepsake" are already enticing musical works, while the "Trapped in Time" remix from label boss Sascha Braemer unites them into a wonderful release.

Die EP „Trapped in Time" ist das erste Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Marian Herzog und Modshape. und gleichzeitig auch das erste Release dieser Collaboration auf dem Berliner Label WHATIPLAY. Das ebenso wie Marian Herzog in Berlin ansässige DJ Duo Modshape. fokussiert sich in seinen eigenen Produktionen auf Deep Techno und kombiniert in der hier vorliegenden Zusammenarbeit mit Marian Herzog gerade und kraftvolle Technobeats mit verspielten Melodien. “Trapped in Time” und “Keepsake” gehen bereits in den Originalversionen ordentlich steil und werden mit dem großartigen Remix von “Trapped in Time” von Labelchef Sascha Braemer persönlich zu einem wundervollen Release vereint.

Kerk! & Du Chatinier make their debut on the international scene with their first release from the Canary Islands' very own Movements Label, founded by Isaac Silva & Adrian Rodd.
Robert Mulder, Juri Mirales (Kerk!) & Stefan Kniest (Du Chatinier), three young kids based in Amsterdam, have established themselves as local prodigies with their magnificent, energetic sets. This time around, they've dropped a new EP, embracing the same kind of vibrant energy they regularly emit onto the dancefloors: four originals based upon a brand of buzz worthy, old school house.
And they got some help along the way. Hanfry Martinez, a contemporary artist at the apex of his career, has taken on remixing duties. He founded his label Overall Music with partner Javier Carballo while resuming an equally prolific individual career, remixing artists such as Subb-an or Dyed Soundorom.
Hanfry has worked on a very underground remix, based around a potent bass thump and constantly shifting ambient sounds, perfect for even the most exquisite ear.
The second remix is done by the boys from Zurich, Reto Ardour & Benja - their patented, signature blend of acid synths and immaculate bass lines will promptly set any dancefloor ablaze.
Both collaborations have made this one of the more promising releases from this up-and-coming label. After six releases, Movements has been steadily in bloom, getting plenty of support and exposure, harboring artists that appear alongside some of the biggest in the business. At this pace, Movements' influx of vintage house music will be fixture among peers for months to come.

Having previously unearthed and showcased plenty of new school talent like Chamboche, Bonar Bradbury and A/Jus/Ted, Under The Shade turn to two hot house properties in the form of Ben Pearce and Real Connoisseur for their next release – a split EP of one original and one remix from each artist.
You probably already know the name Ben Pearce from ‘What I Might Do’, his oddly anthemic deep-house debut that dominated club floors across the world in 2012. Here he is in similar form with ‘Just Enough’ – a dark and studiously moody house cut that brews and stews for the duration with almost hymnal pads, smooth and buried deep kick drums and just the slightest traces of classicism in the repeated male vocal
clip. Light-fingered drum fills and carefully, scale riding melodies add depth and space and this one is likely to be as big as his debut.
Remixing the track is Real Connoisseur, a 20 year old from Oxford with releases on labels like Purp & Soul already under his belt. His version stands more upright with sharp and slinky percussion bringing a deep garage vibe the track. What will most standout for clubbers, though, is the mangled and spangled bassline that ripples through the track come the mid point Floor slaying stuff for sure.
And so to his original track, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, it’s an elastic and bombastic deep house cum bass music hybrid with precise bass notes patting out the rhythm and kinetic drum hits churning in its midst. A euphoric, hands in the air vocal sample bursts through a various points as the bassline bobbles along below and the production is both rich and warm, infused with a neon glow and crafted for maximum damage, you suspect.
Pearce returns the remix favour and tweaks it into a more peak time, punchy house jam with well placed vocal snippets accentuating the kick of the drums. It’s easy to see why Pearce won so many fans early on, and this EP suggests Real Connoisseur isn’t far behind him.

Real Connoisseur - Nobodys Fool (Original)

What do you do when a live project exceeds its own ambitions? Just keep doing the wonderful concerts and eventually head to the studio. Sounds simple and conclusive. In the case of Karocel, that was exactly how they went about it and surprisingly, all six band members made it happen. Though the four Marbert Rocels, Mathias Kaden and Michael-Mitchi-Nagler have known each other from their hometown along the Gera-Jena-Erfurt corridor, and the Karocel live shows have been well received: an album is an entirely different beast. You can add to that the full schedule of events and shows for everyone involved and the various songwriter habits of each. Yet still, the wish to work together on a deeper level stood out front for everyone. The fun they had on the stage brought Karocel the best idea since the carousel. That is, to take the live show and produce it in the studio without a concrete sound in the subconscious. In the fall of 2012 everyone got together in the studio of Marbert Rocel for three intense jam sessions. With a single click it all began – after a while everything was knotted together only to be woven through the mixer where it then lay. Post-production vocals and overdubs weren’t needed. The 10 pearls that emerged from those sessions glistened in its raw form that the direct multifaceted nature of a Karocel event is now available in album format. In various dramatic curves ‘Plaited’ prances over the dance-floor. Right smack in the middle there are tracks like ‘This One’, ‘Tease You’ and ‘Undo’ and the bar shaking ‘Vox, ‘Watts’, ‘Boys’ and ‘Don’t Play’ the kissing on the sofa ‘Without’ and the one on the way home ‘Parallels’. How nice that all the pieces will be in fact available under the stars and in the homey confines of the club to be felt and appreciated. Just like when they were recorded Karocel took everything including mixing the tracks and the artwork in their own hands. Plaited is a complete work of art, no question.
