Crash Party unleashes his debut album, hot on the heels of the first two EPs 'Sounds Like This' and 'Get Up (Let's Go)'.

Sit yourselves down and take a trip with Crash into his musical journey from the mid 90s, as a teenager, getting into the musical wonder of what is known as Big Beat, through to today where Funk Edits and Bootleg Breaks have brought the idea and feeling of Big Beat to a modern audience.

Crash has drawn inspiration from the classic producers and labels of the 90s that made Big Beat special for him, but in his own production style. The album keeps it varied from the head nodding album opener 'Branded No.1', through to the euphoric, hands in the air anthem in waiting 'Get Together'. The Pop friendly 'What'cha Waiting For?' gets you humming along and the Cut 'n' Paste inspired 'Supersonic Frequency' gets your toes tapping. Northern Soul inspired tracks 'Get Up (Lets Go)' and first EP, 'Sounds Like This', dare you to sit still while listening to these cuts. 'Right On' is written straight for the dancefloor where Funk meets pounding Beats and Rave sensibilities. 'Got 'Em This Time' and 'I Know' are dancefloor sirens as they call the crowd to let their hair down and get crazy in equal amounts. Wrapping up the album is 'Manifesto', which is the track that Crash has had planned longest, combining Hawaiian influences with Acid 303 lines and some classic vocals wrapped in the Big Beats and energy that the album revolves around.

All Digital Vinyl Mix 3 (90s DnB/Jungle/Jump-Up)

The dust has finally settled after Shindig Festival 2024 and reality has returned. 
Leading up to the festival I spent most of my free time writing / producing and crafting this set of unheard music only to have the cruel fates of festivals decide that a power cut less then half way into my set was to end the hard work I had put in.

Gutted does not cover how I felt when it happened, but shit happens. All I could do was pack up and make way for the next DJ and hope that the power was restored for their set as the show must go on. 

No one was to blame, just a rubbish situation made worse as this was due to be my first real set IRL since before lockdown (yep, 4 odd years in the making). Alas it was not to be.

I've now recorded the whole set, as it was meant to be for your listening enjoyment. 

A little background to this set, it was part of the Global Funk Fam Takeover of the Ghetto Funk Nightclub at Shindig Festival. The sets were 20mins long to fit in all the DJs that came together from across the globe, hence this being more of a showcase set of some of the music I have coming out this year.

Due to the length of the sets I decided to go for a Cut n Paste inspired set of never heard before music from me for the first half, and then the second half was longer tracks.

During the my set the Kurnel MC was due to join me on stage to perform the final track with live vocals, for this recording I have use the acapella from the track.

Should you want the authentic, real life version of this... Stand in a muddy puddle, poor a watering can of water on your head and then stop the playback about 8mins in and you would be close to what it was like at the time (minus the tent of smiling happy folks that were enjoying the music until it stopped).

Big Beat Sundays is back with their first track of the year and this one is a Big Beat Party starter from start to finish. “Freddy Fresh Ate My Hamster” sees the producers Sonale and Crash Party combine their talents to mould this Big Beat belter.
Big beats, horn stabs, Looped vocals, phat bass and cheeky synthesis - All the ingredients for any Big Beat era tune.
With a title such as “Freddy Fresh Ate My Hamster” it would be remiss for this release not to pay further homage to one of the god fathers of Big Beat, by asking the man himself, Freddy Fresh, to remix it. Freddy turns in a slower based bass thumping, latin twisted remix for the connoisseurs out there and we are chuffed to bits with it!
Funky breaks and sample wizard Lebrosk turns in a tasty cut ’n’ paste inspired remix, giving the tracks a lick of his own tasty production style. Finally, to round out the release, there is a Big Beat Sundays remix, tapping into a love of the likes of Mighty Dub Katz and Basement Jaxx to deliver a 4x4 pounder designed for the dance floor.

It's fast becoming the party season and we thought it was time to drop our debut full length mix in time for the end of year office party or family gathering.

2017 has been a great year for us...
We performed our first live sets at Shindig Weekender (with guest appearances from JFB and Too Many T's), Grillstock Festival, Wonder Fields and Sunrise.
We DJed with the likes of Dutty Moonshine, Slamboree Soundsystem, Howla and DJ BINGE. 
We've released music on the mighty Ghetto Funk and Scour Records as well as having written a bunch of party crashing music and remixes for future release.
We would like to take this moment to thank each and everyone of you that has been to one of our shows, listened to our music or downloaded one of our tracks.

“It’s on like that!” Projected from Mark Curry’s vocal cords during 2001’s rap hit “Bad Boys for Life.” Well…. Scoot along Sean Combs. @crashparty are wielding their sampling sticks, have borrowed Mark’s one liner under a new guise “Paul Spicy” (for copyright reasons obviously) and are moving into the neighbourhood to throw their own barn dance! Find them in Grandpas wheelchair at the deep end of the swimming pool, high on Aloe Vera cooking up synthesiser sounds that’ll make Black Rob shriek Whoa indeed!

Kicking off the Shindig is the title track “It’s on Like That.” You can expect the standard shenanigans from the boys as they bring rumblings and growls from Ableton perfectly alongside guitar licks, drum fills, heavy kicks, snares and bass. This track is an absolute belter.

Keeping to their signature sound, they bring Natty Speaks along for the ride on “What You Come to Do?” Well, it looks that they came to Bruck up the party! CP & @nattydefcon tempt you in with a more relaxed vibe, but once they have you in their clutches, they crank it to 200 guaranteeing a mosh pit wherever this is played. This is a solid Collab with the perfect vocal content from Natty.

Up next… “Funk It Up” Doing what’s scribbled on the can! This 120-bpm gem is brimming over with funky guitar’s, fresh horns and a delicious bass line that transforms into some tasty growls while remaining an accessible party joint to all listeners.

Slamming hard on the tail of this EP is the remix competition winner @swiminc This gentleman stepped up to the challenge of remixing “Funk It Up” and surfaced from his den victorious with this Fresh to Def take on CP’s original. Darkening it up a bit with some serious Synth action while paying homage to the OG, this is how a remix should be handled.

Crash Party… DJ, Producer and Graphic Designer. He also runs his own label, Big Beat Sundays and regularly streams on Twitch with the Global Funk Fam, that he co-founded.

Crash’s production style is a mixture of cut-n-paste ethos and modern production values and has released music with Ghetto Funk, Scour Records, Cuttin’ It Fine, Big Beat Sundays and Breakbeat Paradise. Crash also featured on Dutty Moonshine Big Band’s album ‘City Of Sin’ and he also has writing and production credits for Aldo Vanucci including his recent hit ‘Impossible’. 

As a DJ, Crash, under various aliases, has DJed from New York to Ibiza and all over the UK, from Clubs to Pubs, Festivals to Special Events. Musically Crash combines Beats, Breaks, Funk, Bass music and more in his sets, drawing from new and classic music alike.
