Next up on Crave Cast is the Frankfurt based DJ, producer, curator and event manager Shia LaBiff.
The Frankfurter jung’ has a huge repertoire of music and influences which he’s constantly sharing for the last 20 years. Starting in early age with Indie, Post Punk and New Wave he soon discovered the joy of electronic club music and started following the path of New Order, Primal Scream and Andrew Weatherall into a new beat driven world. His event and guest mix series Blank Wave is providing international artists like Skelesys, Sharlese, Andi (Synthicide), Moderna, Rotciv and Sugar Rody – just to name a few. CRAVE CAST 031 - SHIA LABIFF

Carlos, influenced by the dark minimal synth, synthpunk, and gothic music scenes, developed his own style, seeking modern fusions of industrial/EBM and other contemporary electronic music genres. He has performed at major European dark underground festivals such as Ombra Festival, Krake Festival, Wave Gotik Treffen, Burning Man, Waveteef, Gothic Pogo Festival, Decadence, among many others.

In 2018, in collaboration with German singer Petra Flurr and under the name 89s†, they released their debut album titled "Monotone Zone". The same year, they embarked on their first European and American tour, playing at large festivals and important clubs. In 2021, they published their second album "Trübe Stadt" on Oraculo Records and joined the lineup of Ombra Festival artists.

In 2022, Carlos took a significant step in his career by establishing his own record label, "Miseria". This move likely signifies his desire to further contribute to the music scene and promote artists in his genre.

Today we invited a friendly label Kri Records @kri-records from Ljubljana, Slovenia where they have an exquisite curation by their label and all the releases are with that mystical and dark club touch. There are many record labels out there, of which you listen to two or three songs on Bandcamp and you don't even remember the name but Kri records each of the releases is special and club-focused and one of them is from Adrian Marth feat Diana Berti well played by a lot of great Dj arounds the world. Ahead of the Krake Festival in Berlin this coming weekend, we're excited to bring you this special edition mix from one of the fest's headlining artists. Founder of Rotterdam's Pinkman records alongside its three offshoots Mindri, Broken Dreams and Charlois, he also ran a beloved record store at the beating heart of Rotterdam’s creative district, and co-founded Rotterdam's online radio Operator. What his work has in common is its ability to form a community out of a disparate group of outsiders with bravado. As a DJ, Marsman wants to make you dance with your head held high. His sound evokes a retro-futuristic euphoria. Nostalgic without being stuck in the past, it fosters the return of songs to the club; of sex, warmth and basslines to the dancefloor. Not confined to any one genre, expect to hear some of the best outsider sounds and infectious tracks from across wave, body, italo and well beyond. I

Andre & Gavaldi - Oberwave Mix 204

La Carpio (they/them) is a parasitologist, record collector, party thrower and DJ based in Hamburg. Born and raised in Costa Rica they are co-organizer and resident of several event series in the Hamburg queer underground scene. Their party series Nuit Blanche offers a space for queer DJs to share their music with the local community. Their monthly radio show Contra Olas in the local radio sender FSK focuses on subcultural music genres. Bound to a queer ethos their music curation and vinyl sets comprise dancy gloomy electronics from Belgian and French Cold Wave, shaped by psychedelic Acid Disco, Sonido de Valencia and New Beat, all spiked with furious EBM and Electropunk beats.

The underrepresentation of queer artists in their favorite music genres as well as the underrepresentation of their favorite genres in the queer mainstream scene inspired La Carpio to curate this only vinyl set, dedicated mostly to queer and/or female artists that composed, produced, remixed and influence the current deviant electronic music scene including various genres from Synth Wave and Proto-Techno to Dark & Italo Disco, over Acid and EBM grooves.

Schrauff and Lavka from Kri Records (a DIY record label from Ljubljana, focusing on Electro, Wave and EBM) recorded a mix inspired by the Kri Records Showcase event at Switch Pocket Club in Barcelona, where they played with Adrian Marth on the 7th of March this year.
