Footshooter 'Libations & Movement EP' The remixes 

After the amazing Libations & Movement EP release of summer 2020, Footshooter is back with a hand picked bunch of top producers on remix duties. 

Repurposed and reimagined, the remixes go on a journey. From the delicate rolling Deep House vibes of William Florelle on ‘Malaika ft MO.MOYO. Florelle is a fast growing producer talent championed by the likes of Wot Not Music among others. 

To the mesmerising tribal bruk drum track from Fernando Damon, a drummer and producer from Cape Town, South Africa and Gilles Peterson fave. Fernando takes ‘Catch My Breath’ on a drum workout! It just keeps you locked in as the horns from Wilf Petherbridge build in and around this intensely hypnotic drum pattern. It commands attention! 

Then into some low fi skippy House niceness, ‘Lay’ ft Natty Wylah is remixed by the elusive Jackson Almond. (BBE, Wot Not, Eton Messy) Straight up dance heat, big biznez but somehow still maintains a laid back vibe. And if that wasn’t enough, Jackson also delivers a heavy Bruk jam of ‘Malaika’ ft MO.MOYO. This time with synth lasers and big basslines, ripe for dance!

Xtra Brux brings a ruff and tuff rendition of ‘Slipped Back’ ft Izzy risk, but keeps it on a level, allowing her full vocal to shine, if you know Brux this is unusual! 

Then from Tiff’s Joints Boss and Touching Bass member Sean Keating aka Poison Zcora, is another hypnotic tribal drum groove. ‘Malaika’ ft MA.MOYO, this time with a steady 4 x 4 riddim dancing with the congas and bass synth, while MA.MOYO’s vocal reminds us of that deep deep bass!

Finishing off with a more cinematic and ambient vibe from Romaal Kultan, flipping ‘Slipped Back’ ft Izzy Risk on its head and into a dream, lying in the grass with daisies, looking into the sky making shapes out of clouds! Seriously tho, this went on repeat about 20 times!! Just beautiful, no more words needed really !

The releases are all produced by Myazisto producer and artist that has taken the name of Yazie Beatz to release some lovely soulful music.

This release (Part 2) has some sweet guitar versions of Breeze and Racing which glide nicely with the vocals of SIO. Also, an extra track feat Villa which is a beautiful R&B/Soultrack that really is outstanding.

BBE Music is excited to present the long awaited, eponymous debut album from the USA/UK partnership of JTronius and Maverick Quest, aka Sons of the Sun.

Delivered remotely following a chance meeting on music-tech networking app ‘Brapp’, the ingenious pair sent files back and forth between Texas and South East London to manifest their shared vision for ‘Sons of the Sun’. Remarkably, the duo are still yet to meet in person.

A respected solo artist knighted by Bootsy Collins as an official ‘funkateer,’ Berklee College graduate JTronius is an extravagant entertainer, entrepreneur and lifestyle brand. Self- dubbed The Guvna of the Galaxy, he brings his swaggy, soulful style to all his endeavours. He has shared stages with LL Cool J, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Pharrell, Busta Rhymes and Damian Marley and is an accomplished actor, appearing in a number of successful Hollywood feature films.
Genre-blending record producer and multi-instrumentalist Maverick Quest grew up immersed in the aesthetic of hip hop. But in an environment where flipping loops from vinyl was standard, developing his musicianship to create his own sounds was radical, a move that paved the way for his signature sonic. He has previously performed with and produced for Guru, Grandmaster Flash, Ice T, Ibibio Sound Machine, Solo Rosa and Portico Quartet to name but a few, and is firmly rooted in the epicentre of the burgeoning South East London jazz movement.

Sons of the Sun’s debut long player features a host of luminary guests and musicians from all over the globe, including guitarist Dai Miyazaki (Bilal, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Tye Tribbett), keyboard player and vocalist Matt Cusson (Christina Aguilera, Brian McKnight), singer Ayesha Brooks (The Voice, Season 6), saxophonist & flautist Jelani M. Brooks (Ghost Note, RC & The Gritz, Erykah Badu), Boston rapper Madame Cruz and Scottish horn collective The Brasscats, among many others.

Mixed by Grammy-nominated Clinton “Ubiquity” McCreery and mastered at Grammy- awarded studio The Carvery, this album inks an impressive first chapter in the story of Sons of the Sun.
